There’s no ‘menu’, the experienced staff will craft your order based on the preferences you give them, but you can always point at something or ask and they’ll provide. While the produce and dishes are brilliant, it was the class, care, and efficiency of the place that really stood out to me.
Leave room at the end for a creme de catalan!
This is something everyone should experience — a shining example of what true hospitality should look like. Other hosts could definitely learn from them!
Nothing could be farther from the truth here. This is an excellent restaurant. The service is dialed in; attentive, fast and friendly. The dishes you have heard about are as good as you are expecting. It’s not that hard to get a reservation, really. The prices are reasonable! Sometimes a restaurant is exactly as good as you’ve heard, and you get it immediately. This is a place like that. Don’t miss it!
If you have a reservation, you have the chance to get a table in the rear part of the restaurant. If you go there spontaneously, just wait in line for 10-15 min and you get a place on the bar. There you don’t have a menu (and no prices!). You just tell the guys what you like and what you don’t like and they make some kind of course menu for you. The quality of the dishes was so so good – and very original. We tried dishes that we wouldn’t have tried anywhere else. The service is so friendly too and the atmosphere is lovely, as it seems that the barmen are all friends. But be aware that it’s noisy and there is no privacy as there a people all around you (even people behind you that wait for your spot on the bar) Desserts? So good. Of course, the bill was kind of surprise too. We (two people) payed around 100€ for a lot of seafood, two rounds of drinks and two desserts – fair.
What I liked most? No one asked for a good review on Google.
I recommend this place to anyone who’s visiting Barcelona
Some food was really good (tuna tartare, grilled calamari, solomillo) some both my wife and I really didn’t like (the clams with jamon).
What I didn’t appreciate is the lack of menu and transparency on prices (I see this is a common comment in other reviews as well). Waiters will essentially list to you tapas options that will cost 20-26 euros. Our waiter kind of mentioned in passing (mostly because he misunderstood a question we had) that we should expect to spend 35-40€ per person. It ended up being 50 per person, which could be fine given the area is primarily frequented by tourists, but what isn’t great is that you don’t know how much you are spending until the end. I feel a printed out menu would fix most of the negative reviews and comments.
On the plus side, drinks (at least water and wine by the glass) are extremely fairly priced.
