MUST TRY! Hands down the BEST restaurant meal I’ve eaten in a LONG time! Everything was super fresh, piping hot, and absolutely amazing! The chicken cordon blue was by far the best I’ve ever had! Great NOLA vibes & decor. Absolute great find! Banana bread pudding was phenomenal as well!

We are from Indiana & Holy, wow! This food BLEW us out of the water! The authentic Cajun taste was incredible. I had the blackened mahi and crab cake and both were incredibly fresh. The red beans and rice were the best I’ve ever had! Oh, and don’t forget to top your belly off with the banana bread pudding Can’t wait to go back!

I cannot believe I have lived in Charlotte for over 30 years and I haven’t been to this incredible restaurant! We always thought it was a hot dog place. It is absolutely NOT a hot dog restaurant. It’s excellent food, wonderful atmosphere and amazing service! My husband and I stopped in for lunch and had the best meal we have had in a long time. Wow! The staff and owner are so gracious and treat you like they have known you forever. We will be back every week and plan to make this one of our regular spots. You MUST try it!

This place is rated high. I thought I’d be safe. Maybe it’s because I didn’t go in person. I ordered the chicken seafood jambalaya plus shrimp, mussels and crawfish. I got just plain Jambalaya, and honestly to me that just tasted like Zatarains. Wasn’t impressed. I wouldn’t come out here for the bad review though if, when I reordered it through doordash, I got the same exact thing again. The tickets show what I ordered. I don’t get it. Too many options out there to waste my time with this place again.

Amazing food. The service was great. Our waitress was hilarious. We had the Blackened chicken breast with a side of red beans and rice. It was an explosion of flavor. ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!! The BBQ shrimp over grits appetizer was DELICIOUS! The grits were creamy and a little spicy. Just the right touch! The seafood gumbo was superb. The collard greens were delicious!! The Chocolate Pecan pie was awesome. Rich and chocolatey. As someone who lived in Louisiana many years, I can honestly say that this place is LEGIT!! WILL DEFINITELY BE BACK!! THANKS AL AND THE CAJUN YARD DOG TEAM!!!

Their fried foods are cooked well. Crispy coating and not oily. My least favorite item was their gumbo. The roux tasted burnt. The server had recommended the gumbo and when he asked how I liked it, I was honest and said it was my least favorite. He could tell that I only took a couple of bites but did not offer to take it off my bill. I would definitely go back and order their fried items but would be hesitant to order anything that has a roux.

We really enjoyed fried chicken and fried catfish.
Okra was really good as well. Mac and cheese, coleslaw and banana pudding were just ok. We never got any sauces for our fried chicken or fries.
