Parties of 8 or more are charged automatic gratuity.

I had the feeling the pointedly bad treatment was because we are an interracial couple with children in tow.

We decided on Cajun Steamer cause my good friend Keith used to work here.
He was an awesome waiter- I wish he could’ve served us.

Jordan was rude and loves to argue with guests. I kept telling her- I will not argue with you. I am simply telling you what happened.

She knocked me in the head setting plates down and was knocking over stuff on the table trying to refill drinks. Got mad at me later for grabbing our own silverware. But we had no silverware when the food came. Guests waited 5 or more minutes after food was down to even be able to eat.
Food was basically DOA and came out super sporadically.

Bring your measuring cups.
I can pour 1 1/4 ounces of tequila with my eyes closed.
I know what 8 ounces looks like because I have worked in restaurants for 12 years.

Pictured is what Gumbo is supposed to look like.

I got a meatless bean water with rice.

The birthday boy enjoyed his food, but y’all didn’t even care it was his birthday.

This could be a nice place.
Kept asking if I wanted more of the same meatless, bean water. I know what authentic Gumbo looks like.

No. I honestly wanted a refund for the dish or something else cause it wasn’t even Gumbo.

We spent $340 for 12 people.

I heard Red Lobster pulled themselves out of bankruptcy recently by listening to their customer complaints and adjusting the sails.

I can tell y’all haven’t changed in 10 or more years.

RECOMMEND this location. The food quality was decent. The location was a bit small and can feel really over crowded. However, the food is good, based on the prices.

Wow! The first time I came here last summer I got sick.
However, this year I gave them a second chance and I’m glad I did because we both really enjoyed our food! Very delicious. Good staff, refilled drinks and brought boxes and ticket in good time. I enjoyed my $3 drink too!

Have been eating in this restaurant for over 20 years and the food has not been what it used to be. Unfortunately,The sizes of the catfish filets were extremely small. Also, the size of the meat in the gumbo (seafood), and étouffée was just basically a gravy with some rice and a couple of little bitty tiny size shrimp the crawfish were, however a little bit larger. You could actually see them. The fries were cold. The server was pretty decent and accommodating. Just the food quality was not where it should be for a restaurant that’s been open this long. they missed a few points on the condiments, not have been cleaned properly with nasty stickiness dripping down the side of the bottles in the caddy on the table.

We drove over an hour to have our anniversary dinner at Cajun Steamer Bar and Grill. We have been here a number of times, and what a neat place this is with its Cajun atmosphere. Jacob took great care of us. He was very fast bringing our drinks. He then allowed us adequate time to look over the menu. We were not rushed between courses. We started off with a dozen char grilled oysters, and they were so good. Following that, we both had the Catfish Pontchartrain. The fish was cooked to perfection, and the sauce that topped it was to die for. I had the red beans and rice for my side, and it was great. My wife had the remoulaud slaw and said it was very good. For desert, we shared an order of four large beignets. Our experience was as close to being in the Big Easy without making the trip. Yes, we will return.

Disappointed to say the least.
When I arrived the restaurant was slow. Jordan and another girl was sitting at a booth to the right backs against the wall. The said sit where you want. It felt like a lottery to see where we sat as to who was going to serve us. Let’s just say we didn’t win the lottery with Jordan. It went directly down hill from there.
We asked to move because the sun was coming through the window and she looked like she got mad. My husband just responded “I will just sit over there.”
We ordered 2 Appetizers. The Boudin and gator tail. The picture I added is the pieces in Reference to a quarter. When I asked the server about it she said that’s the size. 20.00. Keep in mind we eat here a few times a year with clients. When they in town.
We knew it wasn’t acceptable but moving on.
I went to the bathroom after peeling my shrimp and the soap dispenser fell off the wall. No soap. No Paper towels. No server came back to bring back any napkins. So I took a piece of a roll . 5 cheap napkins off of another table. Took rolled silverware off of other tables.
Workers walking all around.
We ran out of beverage 1/2 through meal.
Jordan came back right before we left to ask if we needed anything.
What I wanted to say was Jordan you see the dang glasses are empty, the alligator tail was just batter, my hands smell like shrimp and the fact you brought no refills, no napkins and thought the gator tail was acceptable just went to show you didn’t really see to care if I needed anything anyways.
Service sucked (Jordan), food (gator tail) was ridiculously over priced, bathroom is in need of repair.
No one wants bad service and shrimp hands. Not to mention share a beverage when you pay for two.
It’s in the details.

We were in town from Mobile Al playing a softball tournament and decided to give the Cajun Steamer a try during a big break. Our waitress and her mom both who both work there greeted us and were so kind.

The food was great Tuna Dip, Fried Pickles, Cajun Pasta, Fried Shrimp, Seafood boil. We will definitely be back any time we are in the are.

I don’t like leaving bad reviews but this restaurant could be a lot better. There were only two tables there that day and we had to ask for everything after the food arrived — silverware, condiments, napkins. I’ve never had cocktail sauce with crab claws but that’s what we had. I had the fettuccine alfredo and the sauce was runny, no Parmesan cheese was offered. Bland. Oh yeah, there was a third table there and it was for the staff in the middle of the room. A birthday at my table and after my two friends sang, we heard the wait staff say “we could barely hear you..” We ignored the remark and asked for the check. Later, my friend got sick. Will not recommend. Now I see why the place was empty.
