This review comes a lot late from our visit to Charlotte last year in July, but I really enjoyed this restaurant for the food and atmosphere. Five stars, despite at the time, it appeared the air conditioning was not working. We could tell this was a popular restaurant as it was packed when we came. It was a good idea that we made reservations. The decor is charming and brought the feeling and vibe of New Orleans. They had a very talented live band playing Jazz and Blues music. The food was so tasty and delicious and I would say it was authentic as any of the best restaurants in New Orleans. I would definitely come back and highly recommend if you love and miss Cajun cuisine and New Orleans charm. I hope by now they have the air conditioning fixed.

Food was good. A little more seasoning or spice would have helped. I had Cajun pasta and my friend got The Shrimp Diane. Drinks were delicious. We set upstairs where the band/entertainment was performing, loved it. Waiter was a nice guy and was very attentive.

I did feel a little rushed as we had two attending to us and one would immediately clear things as she saw them finished. It was too much service if that’s a thing. Yes we had 7pm reservation and they close at 830 but it was 8pm. Outside of the frequent interruptions we enjoyed our company and the food.

My husband and I came for dinner and it would absolutely wonderful. The food, the service, the atmosphere and the drinks were all great. I had the duck and my husband had blackened catfish and chicken and the red beans and rice. Oh and the bread pudding, my husband loved.

I have dined here on two occasions. Each meal has been excellent. They serve real cajun dishes that are delicious. I especially enjoyed the BBQ shrimp very flavorful with just the right amount of heat. I ordered the blacken shrimp and grits with sausage. It was so good and with large portions.

I have finally found a piece of New Orleans. The food, the flavors, and the atmosphere transports guests from the cozy southeast to the unique vibe of the old French deep south. We were greeted by a racially ambiguous host, which, (if you know N.O.), made the experience even more authentic. The seating is ok, but the live band was amazing. Cajun Queen’s menu is straight and to the point and very easy to navigate. Our server was the best, and food was right on time. I can’t wait until my next visit to the Cajun Queen.
Also, I highly recommend the shrimp scampi. You won’t regret it.

The food is so good. Wish I lived closer but we still come in several times a year. Whether you dine upstairs or down the atmosphere and service is wonderful. If dining upstairs with the band it can be a little difficult for conversation but the music is grand. Parking is limited and can be a challenge but on Fridays and the weekend they offer valet parking at no charge. Come enjoy the taste of New Orleans in Charlotte.

The best Cajun restaurant I’ve visited outside Louisiana. The food was so good, they have live music, and the layout gives a fun but intimate setting.

Had the blackened mahi mahi with mashed potatoes and steamed broccoli. For dessert I had the bread pudding. The spices were great but the potatoes were bland and the broccoli wasn’t steamed. Had to request another plate and that wasn’t steamed to my liking. If you order, ensure you request your preference. The bread pudding was great. Tasted like a hybrid of cobbler and bread pudding. I requested my caramel on the side and ended up not needing it.
