Best crawfish in Houston. I come to Cajun Craven at least three times a week and it never disappoints. The food is always fresh, hot, and full of flavor. Every time I order it’s consistent, which is why I keep coming back.

Today was actually my first time eating inside instead of getting it to go, and the experience was just as good as always. Trent took care of me and his customer service was amazing. He’s always been helpful even when I’m just picking up orders, but dining in really showed how attentive and friendly he is. He made sure everything was right and checked on me without being overbearing.

It’s rare to find a place where both the food and the service are this good every time. Cajun Craven has definitely become one of my regular spots and I’ll keep recommending it.

If you like good Cajun food good crawfish, shrimp and turkey necks with great service, this is the place.

Cajun Craven

Called about live crabs. They said they have it. Asked about size and was told #1 mixed with other sizes. Bought 10lbs of live crabs.
Gentleman that sold me the crabs came out with crabs in a bucket. Sizes were accurate to what was communicated over the phone. Gentleman said they were alive but not moving because they had been in the cooler and not that active. Took his word for it. Came home and began the rinsing process before boiling the crab. All but 4 crabs were dead. I was expecting them to come alive after rising them with water but majority were goners.

I messaged on FB as soon as I found out.
Owner reach out later on stating that the staff made sure every single one were alive when picked. That’s a fat lie because when I was checking them, many were not moving and the worker said they are not moving because they were in the cooler. So if they were not moving then how does he know it’s a live. It could be not moving because they were dead. Needless to say nothing was done by the owner. I’m Vietnamese and buy blue crabs often. Owner claims that I may have caused them to die but I went directly home to wash them. A 30 min ride is not going to kill crabs and cause them to smell so horrible.
I want to eat live crabs.
Why would I make this up for?
You guys got to do a better job at this Cajun Craven.
When a customer feels cheated and taken advantage of, it’s not a good look for you.

First time giving this place a try for live crabs since it’s closer but was disappointed. Threw the dead ones away that smelled like they had died for quite some time in fear of getting food poisoning. Only the 4 live ones were cooked.

$50 Cash :•(

Unorganized with poor service. Food was good but not great. Very different seasonings but as I said OK food. Well, let’s say there is better. No one greets you, you just have to figure out that you have to sign a list. Then just wait. Food comes out as it’s ready. Our crab legs took almost 45 minutes. Plastic forks and knives which makes it difficult to cut food without it bending. Then when you’re done, you have to go to the bar to find out how much you owe. Then they write something up on a price of paper. There is no POS system so there’s no tracking of sales and orders. Makes me think of businesses that don’t want to pay taxes. But some people seem to like this place and the prices are reasonable. Parking is a mess and you you’ll probably end up parking in the business lot next door. Because of my experience, I would not return.

pros:
the crawfish are big here ! big tails…the shrimp big too ..got the spicy and it was good big potatoes and the sausage good too …also got the boudin and it was good crispy on the outside but the inside was delish …food was good no lie !!!

cons :
the parking sucks , small and compact ..
inside is small too gets pack quick and our waiter seemed flooded with too many things to do at once , small lil restroom , NO MICHELADAS!! they bring the crawfish out in bags and you have to just dump it on the table not a fan of that kinda messy we did ask for little plates and stuff …

it was our first time here and overall food makes up for the cons ..but no micheladas is a huge deal breaker for me

If you don’t mind eating your food out of a beg. Plastic wear if you’re lucky. Horrible service. Place looks like it hasn’t been cleaned in a very long time. Crawfish juice all over the windows. Go for it. For me, won’t ever go back. 2nd trip there. Same results. Don’t waist your time and money

This is a hidden gem , food is always delicious, and their specialty crawfish in craven sauce . Service has always been kinda slow, I would say declining over the years. But still worth it.

Calamari was flavorful and large pieces. Had the gumbo, good spices, and steaming hot temp. Also ordered the shrimp fried rice.. large container is the norm. Parking lot is way too small, no other place to park during busy hours. Wait Staff inexperienced… No checking on the guest for refills or if condiments are needed. Very good food, recommend coming during off peak hours. Or order to go.

Update: came again, this time for the crawfish, and fried catfish. Awesome flavor and very buttery on the craven spice. Cold beer is also served. Great place to eat, but the parking still sucks. Don’t park at other business, you’ll get towed.
