hookah takes you to the authentic vibes ( fareed is your man) , the guys makes you feel home.
im going this place for two years now they never change.
thank you ( ceaser, zain, mohamed, hasan, ibraheem and big thank for hosam)
and really appreciate ahmed the owner.
For appetizer we ordered Mesakaa casserole (طاجن مسقعه), stuffed grape leaves (محشی ورق عنب), Alexandrian beef liver (کبده اسکندرانی) which came with the bread. I really liked Mesakaa, it was simple and fantastic. I really recommend this for the appetizer. The stuffed grape leaves were mediocre I’d say and I’m pretty sure I won’t order that again. I also liked the liver; it totally resonated with the bread.
For the main entree we ordered rice stuffed pigeon (حمام محشی بالرز) which came with Molokhia (ملوخیه) soup. The combination of these two was fantastic and this was my favorite dish. The pigeon was fried with lots of oil which makes it so crispy and delicious (although might be a bit unhealthy). Molokhia provided a fresh taste that complemented the pigeons taste. We also ordered Bamya with beef casserole (طاجن بامیه باللحمه). That one was also mediocre and I don’t have anything special about it. The meat inside of it was not prepared well-done and could be much better. I also don’t recommend that with rice and Salad.
For desert, we ordered Oum Ali with mixed nuts (ام علی بالمسکرات) [which literally means Ali’s mother and was a funny name for a dish :)]. I liked that as well. It has some similarities with Kheer (فرنی) which is something between pudding and purrigae.
In general, I’m sure there was not my to-go place but I may try it again. I don’t know if they have deliveries, but if so I think that’s a better option to have food from this place (the atmosphere was not the best).
Food tasted good but I wish they work on the place appearance, I understand the vibes they are trying to have but it need more clean & fresh look!
