A Local Classic
Everytime I’ve been to Caffrey’s I’ve always left thinking the prices were reasonable, the food was hit or miss, & the service staff was friendly. This most recent trip was no exception. We ordered the Shrimp Poke Bowl (Miss) & the Crunchy Shrimp Roll (Hit). The Poke Bowl was extremely overpowered by the sauce & the sauce didn’t compliment the bowl well at all. The Shrimp Roll however was very good & I would get it again. We then got the Nashville Hot Chicken Sandwich (Hit, but messy) & the Fried Cod Sandwich (Miss). The Chicken Sandwich was very flavorful but the sauce was a bit excessive again. The Cod Sandwich was just not so great overall, plain & dry. The sweet potato fries & the normal fries were very good however. This is a good spot to get decent food at a fair price.

Everything we had on two separate visits was very very good! Great food. Great service. Especially Jackie on our second visit. Atmosphere is what you’d expect from a bar setting. Will definitely return.

This place has gone so down hill its not even funny. Ive been going here since the late 90s and the food used to be generous, fresh and tasted good.
Now after about 3-4years of living out of state I came back to eat at this establishment and was utterly disappointed and later disgusted by what they serve now… if i could give 0 stars i would but luckily the waitress was very sweet and very helpful.
On the other hand, the food was close to being right out of the garbage can. The Cheesesteak filling is processed dogfood, that you will likely get 6 inches of stale bread and a quarter inch of meat, and barely any cheese whatsoever. I thought it couldnt be any more dissapointing until i saw the soagy, greasy fries that tasted like they were scraped off the floor, and smelt like a locker room.
Ordered a pizza and dang the sauce was like battery acid with a rubbery substance on top that i believe was supposed to be cheese. *ALL* Frozen ingredients out of a box or bag. Pierogies are also frozen Mrs. T’s. Bang bang shrimp, frozen… the pretzel bites, definitely frozen, and the shepherds pie was like a nasty pool of gunk with a pillbury crust on top.
Soo if you want to overpay for food that you can buy in the grocery store frozen section for way cheaper, then Caffreys is your spot. Dont expect anything to actually be cooked well or even starting a meal with quality ingredients.
Also about a day later and ive been in and out of the bathroom almost a dozen times. Likely from bacteria ridden ingredients

Caffreys defines neighborhood bar and tavern but they raise the bar on quality. The absolute best chicken wings, great burgers, fresh sushi, and outstanding entrees. I love the Chicken Caffrey. Spot on service from a veteran staff, just stop reading and go there. NJ FOOD GUY

Bought something locally and asked where’s good to eat. She suggested here. Boy am I glad I asked. This place was fantastic. Wendy was one of the best waitresses I’ve had in a long time. The drinks were good and the food was excellent. I ordered the ribeye (rare of course) and it came out perfect Wendy suggested the fries to go with it and she was dead on. They were crispy and delicious. Looking forward to going back here and hoping to get Wendy again!

Nice local spot. I have only had the sushi, not bad for a pub lol, fish is very fresh, but they could use some work on more consistent and thinner cuts on the sashimi. I tasted my husband’s fish dish , very good. The burgers and sandwiches look great as well. Service is fantastic here, so friendly and helpful. Love the popcorn.

While visiting on my trip from Florida we had the wonderful opportunity to stop into Caffrey’s.
We sat in the backyard with the atmosphere reminding me of my Florida beachside origins. They even have a giant beach chair as decor outside and the cool breeze drafted through the restaurant as the Eagles game was about to kick off.
Also the Liquor buckets, Lobster rolls, and sushi all in the same place??? This place is the bomb, now that’s something you can’t get in Florida!

I want to start this off by saying that I’ve been coming to caffreys since I was a kid and I’ve always had great food! Staff is always so nice. Over the last year however, I have noticed afew things worth pointing out because I really love it here. The sushi doesn’t taste the same or as fresh as previous years and fries have been coming out cold, which I can chalk down to employees being busy and it happens. What I’m most sad about is the Greek salad. I love getting it because it’s not only delicious but for convenience too. The last three times I’ve ordered it, there are less and less olives and feta and the lettuce is that bitter dark yellow and also brown. The chicken is always delicious though! This time it really made me sad because my husband and I are without a kitchen and I had to throw away more than half of the salad which felt like a waste of our money. I hope things like this can improve so we can continue to still enjoy the food and not have to toss a lot of it either. 🙂
