Went to the Hendersonville location last night for the first time. I had been to the Franklin restaurant many times back in the early 2000’s when I lived there and loved it… We had a wonderful experience, the whipped feta and spinach salad ( We shared) for appetizers were delicious. Osso Bucco and Chicken Marsala were exceptionally delicious as well… Service was impeccable and the atmosphere was great! While we had reservations and came ready to splurge on ourselves for my wife’s birthday, I was pleasantly surprised to see that there are many affordable options on the menu as well. I am looking forward to trying many more items from the menu, a lunch visit in the near future perhaps… I’d love to see the Marsala done with beef!!!!

New place downtown, very chic but casual is welcome. It was mid day in mid Apple Festival crowd and hubbub. Several restaurants close to avoid the over rush but we discovered Cafe REL. The staff posted outside was friendly and welcoming so after browsing the posted menu on a brief waiting list we were ushered inside to a nice table with black napkins. Our waiter was very cheerful and friendly as well. We ordered the Black and Blue and Chicken fingers. The hamburger was great, the fingers okay, a selection of dipping sauces would be nice next time but we enjoyed the ranch dressing. We appreciate their willingness and ability to deal with a hectic crowd and We will look forward to coming back soon.

Caffé Rel is a gem From the cocktails to the steak to the dessert, everything felt elevated but never overdone. If you’re in or near Hendersonville and looking for a place to celebrate or enjoy a memorable night out, this is it.
The setting is elegant but not stiff. It’s clear the design is intentional. Cozy enough for date night, polished enough for special occasions.
Kaitlin was amazing. Service was polished and efficient. Our server knew the menu well and made excellent suggestions. Their tagline “polished service, vibrant flavors” really holds up.
We’ll absolutely be back!

Has Potential. Great service. Nice atmosphere. Complementary bread service was greatly appreciated, but no one cared for the tomato-based dipping sauce that came with the bread . Calamari appetizer was cooked perfectly but no one at the table cared for the dipping sauce. The risotto appetizer was also something that received a solid thumbs down from all. The winner of the evening was Caffe Bleu Dinner which came with remarkably tasty, broccoli and red-skin mashed potatoes. It was an outstanding entree which will have us coming back for a second try. We shared the strawberry cheesecake for dessert, which was marginal at best.

Incredible. Large portion sizes but it doesn’t matter because you’ll finish it before you realize how much you’ve eaten. It’s that good. Impeccable service. Our server was so personable and sold us on a few specials offered when we went. Lovely atmosphere.

The menu is different than the one in Franklin. Limited but I’m sure it will change as time goes on. The drinks were great. Appetizer Blue Crab soup was flavorful but not super hot. The crab cake was absolutely phenomenal- don’t pass it up!! Lobster Mac & Cheese was smooth and flavorful served hot and you get an entire lobster tail on top which was nice but we did add a little salt and pepper. The pasta is a penne & serving size was perfect for dinner main. Enjoyed the creamy Carbonara served hot and added grilled shrimp that seemed a little under cooked so we did ask them to grill a little longer. They took care of it quickly and I was very happy with the dish. Decided not to try dessert because they don’t make them in house yet. The lady next to us had the Osso Bucco that seemed to come out of the kitchen ever other table. The risotto looked tight and dry not creamy like accustomed to but maybe next time will try it. White tablecloth, wait staff in all black a little more upscale feel. 2 people. 1 beverage, 2 appetizers and 2 dinners no salad $148 before tip. so something to consider when going. Hailey at the bar was super friendly & took care of us well. Will return.

To start with the positive: the flavor of the two entrees ordered were great: Osso Bucco & Cordon Bleu. The staff were all friendly and clearly doing their best.
The less positive:
It seems like waitstaff were drowning around last night with no clear direction when it was so busy.
Sitting at the bar, it was uncomfortable to witness how disorganized and stressed the wait staff were – The bartender was taking orders, making drinks, clearing dirty plates (having to leave the bar to do so) and (understandably) lost track of when food was ready at the kitchen window. She was touching clean plates, dirty plates, and making drinks. Not great.
We waited over 60 minutes for our entrees – which came out unacceptably cold. I didn’t send it back, because I did not want to wait another 40 minutes for food. Flavor was great, but the cold temperature really muted the overall satisfaction.
During dinner service, wait staff was loudly rolling silverware while entrees sat the window, undelivered, getting cold.
Perhaps with someone there to run FOH and help the bartender effectively, as well as ensure hot meals are delivered, this would have been a more positive dining experience.

My girlfriend and I met for lunch this past Thursday. I had seen the interior of the restaurant before; the site used to be one of the ubiquitous breweries in town. I very much liked the interior and the decor.
When we sat down, we were served a small loaf of sliced french bread with bruschetta. Nice touch!
I ordered The John Gotti (think Italian sub—though I asked for the panini version) and my girlfriend had the Caffe Caprese (salad)—see photos.
When my friend was ordering, she asked our waiter for his opinion among the two choices she was considering. She later commented that she appreciated his decisiveness in pointing out what she might enjoy.
As it happened, we both enjoyed our meals—I had to take half of my sandwich home. The side of chips were delicious (house made?).
The only negative I have is that at no time did anyone offer or just refill our water glasses. In a place like this, where you’re spending a little more for lunch, I think attentiveness to your customers’ glasses should be a given.
I’d like to return for dinner some evening . . .

Amazing food I mean AMAZING! Atmosphere is so calm and enjoyable. Staff is polite and knowledgeable! Good place to come after a long day to spend hard earned money and actually get relaxed and full!

I had the pleasure of coming in for the soft opening and had the most incredible experience. The food was delicious, service was attentive, and we loved the atmosphere! I brought my mom back the next day to try the crab cakes because I was so impressed. We will definitely be coming back for future date nights!
