This is not your typical American breakfast greasy spoon breakfast place.

This is the real deal. We just came from Palermo, and this caffe was close to our hotel, so we decided to give it a go. It’s a family place, started by the Sicilian grandfather of the woman behind the counter. The attitude is totally Siciliano (Sicula Mente!) and the food is delectable. The prosciutto is real Italian prosciutto , the espresso and cappuccino are hot and perfect.

Danielle was behind the counter. She went out of her way to package some sandwiches for us so we could take them on our flight. She was sweet, polite, helpful (and beautiful.)

The atmosphere was relaxed and authentic: there is even a covered little open room outside so you can have a cigarette and coffee at the same time.

Everything was clean, everything smelled great. They even had Pantone, and packages of Mulino Bianco cookies.

We didn’t have any cannoli, but I would definitely try theirs if I hadn’t had a cornetto
albicocca , and then one with prosciutto and cheese, and two cappuccini. Heh.

There are a lot of breakfast places in the area around our hotel, which is conveniently located near O’Hare airport, but I don’t think it gets better than this.

We were there just after they opened, at 6 AM.
Danielle told us that they are open every day of the year from 6 AM until 10 PM. Even on Christmas Eve, they are open.

“Christmas?” I asked. Yes – a half day.

“ A lot of people don’t celebrate Christmas, so we are here for them.”

So happy to have found this little gem. Next time we travel through O’Hare, or find ourselves near this neighborhood, we will make sure to stop in again whether it’s for breakfast, lunch, dinner, or just an espresso.

This is a truly italian cafe with what seems to be patrons that know each other for many years. The staff seemed to know everyone that came in and personally greeted them. Cant believe I havent been here before when I used to live just 5 minutes away.

Nonetheless, the staff was super friendly and accomodating. The prices are fairly lower than market standards but quality does not suffer.

The prosciutto, egg and cheese croissant was flaky and the deli meat was salty and flavorful. Paired with a large cup of Americano, was a nice combination. Lastly, the homemade cannoli was really good.

This place is definitely a 4.4⭐️ rating!!

I absolutely Love CP!! A new find and neighborhood gem! It’s tucked away in a small parking lot right off of Cumberland.

Service was friendly, prompt and the overall vibe is super Italian old school. I believe the owner is there every day and each time we are there, he always says thank you and have a nice day at the end.

Coffee and sandwiches are so good! Relatively affordable as well! Also offer some goodies like chocolate snacks and gelato!

Please support your local businesses !! Lots of regulars on a daily basis !

If you haven’t been…go. This place is hands down one of THE best. If you’re Italian, you’ll love it more than most. It feels like being at the great grandparents house…awesome people, delicious eggplant parm sandwich, cappuccino and yummy desserts. It’s a great place to hang out and enjoy your afternoon. It’s definitely my favorite place to wait for my loved ones that are flying into O’hare or just grab a coffee.

This is place has the best capuccino I have ever tried! I don’t live close, but everytime a family or friend needs a ride to or from the airport I volunteer, just to visit this place! I highly recommend it!!! Not just because their croissants, pastries and coffee are amazing, but because Claudia and her father treat you like family!!! Amazing people, service and food!!!!

I loved this joint. Very warm atmosphere. I was surrounded by the best Italians complaining about their overweight grandkids obsessed with videogames. This place has great coffee, With good prices. $2 bucks for a large coffee. Tip the waitress who is multitasking 4 different people.
