Now a Seattle coffee institution, Caffe Ladro opened our first location on Upper Queen Anne in 1994. People ask about the company name origin. Caffe Ladro is Italian for coffee thief. When we opened up right next to Starbucks, we intended to pinch their customers with the best Seattle coffee and staff we could find. Caffe Ladro in Edmonds, Washington fuels area residents, and visitors with excellent coffee, house-made pastries, and sustainably and ethically produced coffee. If you’re in Edmonds, we’re likely the best coffee near you. We source our beans directly when possible, and roast our blends and micro-lots at our Seattle Queen Anne facility.
Contemporary local coffeehouse chain featuring sustainable beans, plus pastries & other baked goods.

The service here has never been great, but I’ve looked past it because they generally do a great job roasting beans. The other day, however, I purchased two bags of coffee that were badly burnt. The bags were supposed to be medium and light roast respectively, but they both looked and tasted like burnt dark roast.
When I attempted to exchange the bags, however, I was informed that while they were obviously improperly roasted (and the barista even offered that they weren’t surprised, because they’d been having problems recently) they couldn’t take the bags back because they were opened…
I was directed to “take it up with the company,” while given no actual contact information for “the company” (nevermind the Ladro signage on the building). Needless to say, the comment section on the Ladro website didn’t respond to my complaint either.
Any company can have a bad day, but how they deal with their mistakes shows a company’s true colors. The bad bags of coffee aren’t important; it’s the fact that Cafe Ladro absolutely will not stand behind their product, and leaves its roasting mistakes for their customers to absorb.
Looking at the other reviews here, it’s obvious this is indicative of a pattern of not treating customers fairly.
Every year I come back I love this place.
I really enjoy the ham and cheese croissant but lately I’ve not been able to enjoy the delicious coffee here so I had steamed apple cider with caramel in it.
I believe it is called the candy apple and is worth every sip. I’m so glad to come back home every year this is my favorite place to stop .
They have a number of other pastries that I can’t wait to try and when I can drink coffee again it’ll be my first stop.

I absolutely love this place. The place is so cool you got a chance to sit and talk for a little while. Cafe Ladro has been around for almost 20 years. I remember it back in the early days in Seattle
It’s kind of an alternative coffee shop it really didn’t offer too much and it’s bohemian settings for less than impressive to me at the time I just got like it was a place where people dressed poorly and made excuses not to enjoy things that were much better made…
However, I was wrong now they have all sorts of wonderful products in their coffee was always incredibly good and the people that work there I have to be seven months pregnant people I’ve ever seen this place even offers outdoor seating and free Wi-Fi. You get nothing but smiles and shears here you never have to wait too long to your food and if you want to enjoy a delicious pastries sandwich You can do all this lesson $10 with a drink in today’s world? It’s completely Unheardof be sure to show the baristas as much love as possible.
You know these people work really hard 30 minutes to keep up with a smile something I don’t see a lot these days. I am really glad I came here today.
This is a wonderful experience if you want one stop by don’t waste a minute!!
Say hello to Drew for me that guy is so incredibly warm and friendly. He really makes the atmosphere and the other young lady working with it. It’s also incredible as well.
Whenever I get to visit the Pacific Northwest the café Ladro in Edmonds is one of my favorite places to stop the barista’s are super cool the iced coffee is unreal good but one thing I have to have is their cold brew…
Having a cold and dark Seattle rainy day?
Put some sunshine in a cup and Collett café ladros cold brew
It is spacious inside with table seating. There is also a drive through.
I love their coffee offerings, such as lavender coffee with hemp milk. Soooooo much better than anything you could get at a Starbucks.
Food offerings are not many but are all tasty.
I absolutely love this caffe and recommend everyone try at least a couple of their drinks. Now I want a rose cappuccino with cow milk….
The vegan options are extensive which is really nice. Not a lot of places offer that. The vegan oat bar is filling and tastes really good.
You do have to come a little early as they run out of food. I think theybarebpretty popular here with their options.
Coffee is really good as well. It is smooth and they have different milk options.
Almond, oat and soy.
