While there are many excellent culinary possibilities in historic downtown Venice, Florida, this one is definitely worth a stop if you have a little money in your pocket.

Had an awesome dinner or server was fantastic. Was able to make reservations for 4 at 6 pm. The bar area had live music and we sat in the other room and the music was nice, wasn’t too loud. Nice wine selection, we tried a sip before we ordered the whole bottle. Huge menu.

There were 7 of us that dined for lunch this visit. My first time to this restaurant. Chad, our waiter did a fine job taking care of all of us. I had the pastrami melt with fries. They put pickles on which is different, but tasty. My Dad had the quiche with lobster bisque soup. Both excellent. Found out one of our group is an author. His book was brought for us to pass around and read. It can be found on Amazon. Highly recommend Cafe Venice.

Everything was great. Our server was top notch. Hats off to Dawson. Had a little issue with my wifes salmon. He took care of it right away and made up for the problem with a very nice dessert. Definitely will be back. UPDATE. went back. Another issue with my wife’s fish this time not corrected properly. She didn’t get food. Was not really happy with the compensation. Don’t think we’ll be back.

We had a group of six people celebrating a 50th anniversary party and they were able to set up a private room for us exactly as we requested. Service and food were excellent and special kudos to Jeffrey our waiter. I would highly recommend Cafe Venice to anyone contemplating an event such as this.

2nd time trying Cafe Venice in new location and won’t go back again. Our waitress was lovely and did a great job. The music of Sweet Lou and his partner, Betsy was just great. This is a very, very loud restaurant…..so if you are looking for a place to eat and converse, this is not the place, at least not in the evening. Most evening they have live entertainment. Lots of people and bad acoustics. They did have a very active bar scene with many seniors as well as younger folks as well. Where the place failed us, twice now, is in the food itself. The Pork Osso Bucco was o.k., but that is all. Nothing to write home about. Same with the Beef Short Ribs. The Panko Crusted Chicken was a disaster which we could not even chew. Thinly sliced white meat breaded in panko and then over-fried to the point that it was like jerky. Dried and tasteless. The Country French pot roast was bland, tasteless and boring. Taking the half that was left over home and feeding it to dog….I don’t know what was French about it at all. Ordered the Duck filled pot stickers but they only had pork this evening. For $12 you get 4 of these, which anyone can buy frozen at the grocery store. They were fried and served with a bit of Mae Ploy Sweet Chili Sauce that you purchase in a bottle at Walmart for $2.66. Their bread was excellent, as were the fresh mashed potatoes and they did serve, what seemed to me, to be fresh green beans. The food is served in an attractive manner. They have an extensive wine collection, which the bar crowd seemed to enjoy.

We love Venice in May and have eaten here two years in a row. Hubby got Pot Au Feu (French pot roast) again and I got the crab stuffed flounder. Both very good. The kitchen and waitress were great about accommodating some dietary restrictions.

Located on Venice avenue at the heart of downtown Venice. It offers a friendly ambiance and live entertainment. The main entrance is located in the corridor between stores and not by Venice av. There is an exit door on Venice avenue and if you happen to enter that way, you will be waiting long time as the hostess station in located by the middle of the restaurant.
