Something has changed in the last few months, for the worst. Food seemed old, like three days old or more.
For several years I have travel from Palm Beach, and taken this route. This was my go-to place for cuban Cuban food. Always seemed fresh, tasted good – never cared for the over salted mojito.
Before this last visit, I notice the Lechon was not the same, seemed a bit dry, and lacked the normal taste.
This last visit, when I looked at the food, the Lechon and Masitas seemed old, and dry. I asked the server if it was freshly made, and she said that every is made fresh every day. Against my better judgement I believed her and ordered the lechon. Should have trusted my gut feeling, and it’s appearance, but I had been here numerous times and the food was always good (except the time previous). Well, the lechon was dry, and if you have had lechon before, you know the next day it’s normally good. But this was not the case, this might have been a couple days old – had that taste… I feel like this might have been a few days old.
Not sure if they changed cooks or ownership.
I will say this, the pastelitios were on point. They looked fresh and tasted great!
The servers didn’t seem happy or that inviting.
Management; make sure food is fresh, and taste it yourself – make sure it is something you would want to eat before you serve it to customer. Fix that over salted Mojo, put some authentic flavor into it. Fix moral, your employees should be inviting, friendly and happy. This is how a business goes under, one customer at a time… Fix it before it’s too late.

Great food, friendly staff! They serve ready-made dinners from the bar, as well as cooked to order food. You can take your food to go or eat in the little dining area in the next room over. The tables aren’t always kept tidy when they get busy, but it’s a nice environment and generous servings! They also have ice cream you can buy for desert.

This has been the worst flavorless food I have tasted in a long time. I threw it all out. The service was so slow and disorganized. I was very disappointed. The steak in the bread was paper thin and so stiff. The sandwich was messy and so dry. Absolutely gross. If I could give zero stars I would because even their “Cuban coffee” was flavorless.

I love this Place (we called it JULIOS ♀️why have no idea) anyway their food hits the spot every single time today I call to do an order The person that answer was super nice, when I got there
she was super helpful and had my food ready way before the time she said it was going to be ready. Oh yes is a must visit clean place awesome service a nice place to just go and actually sit and eat there to enjoy good food.

All good things must pass. Here is no different. On my way to or from the Miami area to Tampa on 27. This was the spot. I will look forward to stop to have a bite to eat because it was a piece of yesterday of the way it used to be which is no more. This used to be a fabulous place to visit. It has become a cafeteria and ice cream shop. If you can ruin a restaurant that used to be. This is a job well done. The food has gone from very good to acceptable. Others may say it’s delicious. Obviously their taste buds have been destroyed along the way or they don’t remember what it used to be like when it was here before. Well I ever stop you again. It is highly unlikely unless there is no other place to eat or there’s no McDonald’s nearby.
My original review begins here: You ain’t in Miami! U is in Florida! The best description of my visit here for a bite to eat is like visiting a Latinos house to dine. While there, many older men showed up for a “Colada” a Cuban-style espresso served in a Styrofoam cup along with small, plastic thimbles (espresso shots). What comes with your meat entree is rice n beans (Like uncle Fidel intended:). If you really what to dine like in Cuba avoid meat just beans n rice! The food was very good – the Palomilla plain and breaded were a hit with us. Rice N beans did not disappoint either. The Yucca was better than most. Will I stop here again? silly question – I’m writing this so you visit and hopefully get the good experience we did. This is a real Latin joint worth a visit on 27. see u here:)

An overhead TV displays one of THE most efficient menus I’ve ever seen for a restaurant that focuses on its basics. I knew exactly what I wanted and I knew exactly how to order it when my turn came up in line. Starbucks & McDonald’s should send spies to analyze that menu design! Oh, and the “Chicken Pepper Steak w/ rice & black beans” is a definite winner. I chose to eat in and I watched a lot of folks take out.
