Avant Lard Travel – by Houston Porter
We’ve been stopping in to Cafe Tenby regularly for the past few years whenever we visit Port Townsend and have enjoyed every cup of tea, breakfast burrito, and sweet snack (like cookies and cakes.)
Their space is very comfortable and inviting, their food and drink are top notch, and their staff is super helpful, often helping walk us through the various teas, depending on what we’re in the mood for.
We like their tea so much that we even order to our home in California, even though we have some great tea companies much closer.

My husband and I got the breakfast sandwiches and he also picked the scone that people were raving about. It didn’t look like how it was drawn, but I don’t dock for that. He personally said it wasn’t anything special and the breakfast sandwiches were ok. The top bun of the seeded ciabatta was really good. It tasted better without the egg and avocado, which I found interesting. A bit pricey for the serving size. However, it is a cute place and they sell teas and spices as well.

A delight to the senses in every way. The perfect stop for a lunch and some tea/coffee to warm your heart and body ☕ Was so enthralled by the food I nearly didn’t take a picture. The bread is FRESH, the tea selection is divine, and their coffee is perfect.

Wow! Amazing teas and food! We had the Breakfast burrito, Scone with clotted cream, Spinach pastry and they were all fantastic! Very nice decorations and ambience to sit and chat. Will be coming back here again soon!

Really a great tea shop that serves high tea on Saturdays with a reservation.
Been trying for a couple years to have high tea but I kept forgetting to make a reservation. Finally remembered and it was worth it. My partner and I both had the royal tea, high tea with Prosecco.

Came to try the scones with clotted cream, and they did not disappoint! Excellent winter salad as well. Nice calming atmosphere with a friendly and helpful staff.

I have been wanting to visit Pippa’s Real Tea for awhile now and I was not disappointed. They have an large tea selection and I could spend a lot of time smelling the different blends on offer. I ended up trying the scones with clotted cream. If the price may seem a little high for the scone, wait until you try it before making the final judgment. The scone was nicely rich and paired perfectly with the jam and clotted cream. I wish I in Port Townsend more often so I could have more of the scones.

Good tea selection with fun categories. You can buy tea or get some brewed there. The pastries are amazing. I particularly recommend the scone. All pastries and food is prepared there with great care. The place attracts an old crowd but highly recommend to all tea afficionados. Prices are a bit high, but usually tje case for tea shops

Fantastic venue: the new owners made this place their own and it shows. High tea is awesome but their regular fare is terrific too. Service is fantastic, baked goods and teas are sublime. You can sit outside too . High tea shown

Awesome place to sit and have an absolutely delicious pot of tea and a light breakfast or lunch. Much larger that it looks from outside, with plenty of space to nestle and sip your cuppa.
We had Tiger Spice and Bittersweet Lemonade teas, and they were both amazing.
Highly recommended as a must- visit it if you’re in Port Townsend!
