I came in absolutely starving after fasting for bloodwork and ordered the tuna melt. It was delicious — warm, flavorful, on Dutch crunch with fresh veggies that stayed crisp. Honestly one of the best I’ve had in a long time.
The gentleman at the counter who took my order was patient with me even though I was slow to decide (hangry brain is real). Really appreciated the kindness and the good food. Cozy spot I’ll definitely be back to.

A great coffee shop in Orinda located at the library. Illy coffee is excellent and the food creative. It is not large but has lots of heart and seating inside and outside.

As an Australian I always find it wasteful that takeaway cups & cake boxes are disposable where the real joy in my coffee experiences comes from a real cup and eating off a plate. Also much better for the environment.

Since this Cafe is so close to my house, I love taking my friends here when they come visit. The town of Orinda always gives me this feeling of leisure and grabbing a bite at Cafe Teatro helps to calm my mind. Both indoor and outdoor seating are available but I prefer outdoor for the sense of serenity (and because I get to look at my motorcycle while I eat). Love the Melts and Espresso here!

Cafe Teatro offers an assortment of fresh pastries and bagels, quality coffee drinks, great service and Joe makes the best breakfast sandwiches. The baristas are friendly and efficient. It’s like being at Cheers but with coffee.

Met up with a former colleague for lunch this afternoon. Cafe Teatro is a fairly simple straight forward operation. Coffee drinks, Italian sodas, sandwiches, assorted muffins and pastries.
I got the pesto chicken sandwich on sourdough. It was fresh, tasty, and reasonably priced.
Restrooms are on the second floor by the library entrance. There’s a brightly colored patio area with umbrellas and artwork. This is a great place to meet up with friends, or just hangout and enjoy a snack and a book.
