Intimate, 8-table setting for an eclectic menu of sophisticated dishes in a vine-covered cottage.

Having lived in the area since 1991 (arriving at age 11), it’s a shame I waited this long for Valentine’s Day at Café Tango. This is 30A history at its finest. It’s an intimate, small-scale operation where the quality is controlled by a 6-burner stove, meaning you order your entire meal at once—a refreshing change of pace that keeps the kitchen in a perfect flow.
Lessie was phenomenal. She knows this menu inside and out and isn’t afraid to give candid, expert recommendations.
Seafood Stuffed Piquillo Peppers: Do not skip these. The flavors are vibrant and perfectly balanced for a starter.
The Dancing Fish: My fiancé’s favorite—the Grouper “Dancing Style” is a classic for a reason.
NY Strip Special: I had mine rare, Gorgonzola style. Charbroiled then finished in the oven—honestly the best steak on 30A.
The Curator’s Tip: Because the restaurant is so small, reservations are a must. I’m already planning my return for that bone-in ribeye.

A hidden gem. I had the dancing fish and my bf had the chimichurri filet. He got it well done and it was STILL one of the best steaks I’ve had. Knowing how to make a well done steak that flavorful is incredible!!!! And they kept bringing fresh bread to the table….. Great food. Great service. I’ll be back!

Cafe Tango is a hidden gem. The service is consistently 12/10, as is the food. I’ve probably eaten every dish on the menu and have never had a bad bite. Places like this are truly special
favorites include: the scallops, The Parmesan ranch on the house salad, any of the steaks/ grouper options. The lobster ravioli is also divine.
The steaks are truly some of the best in the south east- the red wine Demi glace is drool worthy

First time diner. Loved it. Ken did a great job. I had the Lobster ravioli and my wife had the dancing fish. Both were very good. I loved the small environment. I walked into Alan Parson music playing and knew right away I was in the right spot. We will be back. Really enjoyed it. Thanks Ken.

An intimate setting with an outstanding chef curated meal paired perfectly with warm genuine service and fine wine.
This hidden, low profile, 9 tables, family owned and operated personal dining experience should be on everyone’s list when in the Grayton and Santa Rosa Beach area. There is a good reason they have been here for 30+ years.
This was our second evening at Cafe Tango (2015 & 2023) and each time we’ve walked out the cottage door feeling like we had experienced a “once in a lifetime” moment.
The lovely, delightful and humorous Anna Katherine took care of our every need. We enjoyed the melt-in-your-mouth Seafood Stuffed Peppers, the exceptionally prepared Dancing Fish which featured fresh Grouper and the Filet with Portobello (delicious and tender) elevated with a bottle of Pinot Grigio from Zenota Italy. Oh my… how I wish we had room for the Key Lime pie! We will be back! D&S

Update from 2nd visit: The service can make the difference. We were at the 2nd seating of the night at 8 pm this time. Our server last night wasn’t interested in my food allergies. In fact, he seemed annoyed at them (and I only told him 1 of my 4 because I had eaten here before and knew what I could safely eat). He would have served me an item I know I couldn’t have and scoffed at me that the item couldn’t possibly have my allergy in it. So be careful. The food was still amazing, however!! Our party had the steak and Dancing Fish entrees, The Wedge salad, and Crab & Corn bisque (which was loaded with crab meat). Still highly recommend, with caution if you have food allergies.
Highly recommended!! The staff was fantastic and the food was so good!!! It’s a very small place with only 2 seatings for dinner, so make sure to get a reservation. Parking is minimal but is on property and free. I had the Dancing Fish special with mashed potatoes and veggies. My friend had the lobster ravioli. I ate the veggies first and was shocked at how flavorful they were. Everything else was just as fantastic! They were able to work with my unusual food allergies, which always makes me happy. They only serve wine and have a few beers on-hand. No liquor is available.

We celebrated our anniversary last night at Cafe Tango, one of Blue Mountain Beach’s original cottages. It reminds us of tiny New Orleans restaurants and felt like we were dining in someone’s home with only 8 tables inside. Quaint and romantic. Love how simplistic their menu is – focusing on excellent quality over too much to choose from. Their Filet Mignon is top 2 in my book, cooked perfectly with awesome sides of garlic mashed potatoes and fresh vegetables. Finished our meal with Key Lime Pie which balanced everything so well! We didn’t split for once and ate every single bite of our meal. Cannot wait to go back! Truly one of 30A’s hidden gems and secrets.

My husband and I went to Cafe Tango a few years back and loved it. I was hoping to return on our upcoming trip. They only accept reservations over the phone. The first time I called I did not indicate how many people are in my party in my voicemail. Someone from the restaurant did return my call and left me a message saying I needed to include that information next time I called. I have since called 3 times and left 3 voicemails with all necessary information. I have not received any calls back. If a restaurant is going to insist on making reservations via phone then they need a better system for ensuring potential customers get a response, even if no reservations are available. I am incredibly disappointed in the service from Cafe Tango and don’t intend on returning.
