The food and service are pretty good. The place gives you a real-life experience of where most Mexicans have to go to eat out. The room is limited as it is a small hole in the wall but makes up in other ways that you have to experience if you are into that. Most Americans would probably be scared to get off the main road, but as mentioned by others, it’s worth the short walk. Help keep this family business alive and help it thrive.

This is Authentic Mexican HOME COOKING. I didn’t care for it. It’s rice, refried beans, meat in sauce with tortillas. This place was recommended and overhyped by people in a facebook group for Nuevo Progreso. It’s also a couple of blocks away from the main path.

Excellent food and service. Practice your Spanish before you go. The menu is all in Spanish and there wasn’t anyone in the place who spoke English. I would recommend this place if you ate looking for great authentic food in a nice local restaurant. They do not serve alcohol bit you can always bring in your own.
