A friend told me about Cafe Rio a decade ago and I finally made my way here.
Spacious with plenty of seating but the parking lot is cramped. No line and it moves fast. Very much like Chipotle but the flavors have a lot more kick and the tortillas are made fresh right in front of you.
Came here on Taco Tuesday and the tacos were $3. I had to downgrade my other Taco Tuesday reviews because the tacos here were that much better.
Generous portions and outstanding flavors earns 5 stars.

My mom is very sensitive to spiciness and after she received her enchilada meal I explained to Alba and she happily remade her order and was very friendly about it. This kind of wholesomeness and friendliness is sadly rare these days, but it was nice to see somebody that was so sweet and caring. Alba smiled, didn’t complain and made a potentially awkward situation into a great experience. Can’t thank her enough ❤️.

This location is extremely clean and it’s not overly crowded Lindsay was so helpful she made all of the food super fresh and delicious and was very kind. They have deals everyday of the week for different food items I was able to get a salad on sale for $11 instead of $16. I got the Pollo asado which was very delicious with black beans and everything else. The food tastes so good the tacos are also good but they are a little pricey.

I won’t go again when they first open. The pinto beans were not fully cooked. I am usually very impressed with this location. Everyone can have a bad day. I wanted to eat my burrito by hand so I ordered nothing on the side and no wet. 4 items were on the side instead of inside the burrito and the burrito was swimming in juice. This place is usually 5 stars.

Wonderful experience today. Honestly the staff were all so nice and helpful in figuring out what to order. The gentleman preparing my food was kind & patient, the young man who took my payment was super sweet and polite and even the other employee working was cheerful and wished me a great day. I rarely encounter such professional and friendly people working these days so it truly made my day. The location off El Toro Road more than exceeded my expectations and I will be back. Thank you!

Love this place! Think Chipotle but with good food and service. Had my “tester” meal for Mexican food…Nachos. they were fantastic, the chips were very fresh and the sweet pork was as advertised, sweet! (and pork I’m sure) soundtrack was upbeat and fun and all the employees looked happy. Definitely adding to the rotation!

I got lucky with no lines today. Sometimes the line seems to go slowly but we had good luck with only one person ahead of us and the service was very quick which I needed in between appointments. The food was delicious. I ordered veggie tostada and my friend ordered the sweet pork salad. The order was just right and the food was fresh and yummy. I will definitely go there again

Please don’t come to a Cafe Rio expecting that they get your order right, because they never will. After the fourth try tonight, at this location instead of Lake Forest, our online order was completely incorrect. Go spend your money somewhere where you know what is actually going into your food, because it’s fairly clear that none of their employees care to pay attention to detail.

I ordered 2 kids quesadilla meals they counted the pieces of steak that went into the quesadilla and the manager who fixed the sides only put 1 orange slice that was super thin in each box. Being that stingy really makes me not want to return. Its not going to break the bank to give 2 orange slices or even one that isnt super thin.

This specific location was awesome. We walked in, got in line to order our food. As we got to the first part of our order, standard procedures and service was as usual. The second part of the process, the young woman behind the counter was extremely apologetic and courteous. She explained that she was putting fresh stuff out and she was just cleaning the station up a bit. She apologized profusely and over and over again, but did it so quickly! She made it sound like she was inconveniencing everyone, but really did such an amazing job and fast! The restaurant was clean and in good order.
