Cafe Rio is always a good place to eat. Their burritos are so good. I got a bowl this time and it was really good. The only issue I had with this location is I felt it was…. a little dirty. Let me explain. When they are making your food, there are ingredients kind of everywhere. Cheese in the salsa, food build up along the edges. I understand they are busy but they had quite a few people working this location at the time and it wasn’t overly busy at all. They could have made the food station area presentable and cleaner tham it was. If you are allergic to certain things, I actually would suggest skipping this location because of the food mixing with other ingredients/toppings.

One of my favorite quick and healthy meal place.
I love their yummy big salads/tostadas, also one of the things I like about this place too ,is that all the ingredients are freshly prepared and served in front of you and you can customize your order in any way you want. Everything they have is fresh and delicious. Love that they make fresh flour tortillas.
They also have a good rewards app where you can earn free meal when you collect enough points.
This is definitely our go-to for Mexican-American food with healthy options.
Restaurant is clean and inviting.
The staff is very welcoming and they definitely care about their customers.

Most unpleasant experience I’ve had. Service was not great besides person making my food. They were friendly. Food quality was terrible for $18 with tails on shrimp still in my tacos. Normally I have decent experiences but this one was not one of them. Employee standing front of line in the open texting as if it didn’t matter. Very unprofessional. Almost charged an extra $1 for house dressing I got instead of mango sauce and interaction was just not pleasant.

A really good franchise. I like their food and there is good value there. I particularly like to buy gift cards and take advantage of promotions like more points days. There are some quality control issues at times, occasionally they’re almost out of a meat and will give too little but they generally will correct it if you ask them politely.
I noticed some locations are short on staff at times that might just be a sign of the times but the last time I was there the guy was courteous and did his best and it was a minor inconvenience.

Just asked for fresh fresca salsa and the guy put the old contaminated stuff on my tacos after I just asked for fresh.
I mean it was the bottom of the batch and mixed with other food bits. . Gross
I noticed and asked if they old batch was put on my tacos by the other worker when I was already waiting for the 1st worker to return with the fresh batch.
The worker who put the contaminated salsa on my taco asked if I wanted more but said NO I wanted the fresh salsa and please take the old salsa back off. They said they couldn’t do that and had to remake them so I said OK please remake them.
Then the worker pours the fresh salsa he just went to get right into the old salsa with other ingredients in it on the line!
He told me that all the salsa was made at the same time so it’s all just as fresh… I said ok but I wanted the fresh new batch please not the bottom of the mixed up old salsa witch was almost out and looked gross.
And, did you just pour the new batch on top of the old contaminated salsa?
He said that’s how they do it.
I said, you don’t take the old dirty container out and put the fresh batch in? He said no. Sadly… I left.
I liked eating at cafe Rio and now I can’t enjoy this location until they have new staff because they all agreed they all do it that way.
I literally watch them put fresh food on top of old food on the line instead of them replacing the empty dirty containers!
Beans, meat, corn salsa cream doesn’t matter they just pour the new batches into the old batches. Now I know. Now you know!

The experience with Cafe Rio on Stephanie Street has been very inconsistent each visit. I kept eating here many various times over the last month or so. I can save everyone the time and say DO NOT have high expectations on getting delivery from them as it will likely always be wrong, incorrectly portioned (much less then in store ordering) and, very disappointing while overpriced. When I do go in person for lunchtime usually the portions are better and the freshness is slightly better. Some visits or orders no matter what can have older lettuce or off tasting ingredients. I did give up on eating from here but hopefully later in the future we can see better management.

Let me start by saying MITCH should receive 10 stars because he works and clearly works hard.
The food is generally fresh and tasty. My overall ratings of 3 are based on the efficiency or lack there of witnessed today.
There were 7 customers, including myself, waiting in the pickup line while Mitch raced between the food counter and bagging orders and apologizing for the wait. At the walk up counter there were 7 employees aimlessly standing around, some eating. I am not familiar with the process but I would say teamwork is not a priority. Only 3 customers entered for walk-in during the 20 minutes I was waiting. The ratio of worker to customer is not such to provide acceptable customer service.

I have been too many different cafe rio locations and this one by far is the worst. Employees seem genuinely upset to be working, no one was moving at a normal pace, we ordered a dessert at the register, and the employee literally laughed at us. Then proceeded to bring us a dessert that wasn’t even prepared. We will seek out a different café, Rio, which is upsetting because we live two minutes away. I understand that today is a holiday, but I also am a service worker and it is too expensive to go out and be treated like that.

Not sure what happened to this location but my last visit was bad enough that I don’t plan on going back. No meat ready, old crusty beans, sauce crusted over. Seams like they didn’t have a staff at all. Not sure if they have a new manager or what happened but it’s sad.

Really bad location. I went on Halloween night when there was literally no one in the restaurant to pick up my online order. It wasn’t even ready when I walked in even though I was their only customer. I should’ve checked my order before getting home because the employee forgot several items in my bowl and gave me guacamole instead of the house dressing. Just because they’re both green doesn’t mean they’re the same thing. I didn’t think it would be that hard for someone to mess up an extremely simple order when no other customers are around but now I know to avoid this location because it’s clearly they can’t get the easiest tasks done correctly.
