Ok I am writing this so someone at this Cafe Rio will see this and maybe make a change. I promise I’m not trying to be petty and I will remove. But I order catering for 17 people and paid over $300. It was like $13 a person and we received like no food… I would have been better off ordering individual orders which would have taken much more time for your team than one catering order. I was shocked by the small amount of food for 17 people. It was the smallest tray of rice and beans and such a small tray of meat. It was very expensive and everyone left hungry. Also the queso was cold and had a weird texture. Anyways Just wanted to tell someone so maybe it could change to reflect how much people are paying. I have included a photo. I feel like this size rice should feed like 10 maybe. $300 should have gotten more rice and beans than this. The meat was similar.

Tortillas are fresh but young guy put too much water and never drained my salad .
This salad is a joke and unacceptable. I have been to other locations that I never review a salad like this. But whoever is in management please train your team up front to ensure customers have a great looking plate.
Would you eat this ? @management

Wife and I Love Cafe Rio.. Our Missoula Montana Cafe Rio never disappoints.
Had dinner at this location on our way home from California. A Saturday night they had 10-13 employees working a bunch of people waiting on their orders. In line behind a family of 4 what seemed like it took forever. The girl taking our order was not friendly. The younger kid making our food seemed like he was not trained well. The guy and the register was cool.. Luckily got my take out before a wave of customers lined up behind me. Got back to my hotel room to enjoy our dinner and the food did not taste the same as what we are used to. We have Cafe Rio at least once a week and like I mentioned our location never disappoints.

So this location is under newer management (for about a yearish, maybe). It has gotten a little better because of that. Before, it was so bad that I would have given negative stars if I could. Now the biggest issues I have are the food usually takes about 10 extra minutes to be ready if you order take out (I just learned to plan on that & expect it) & occasionally it’s missing dressings or chips but I make sure to check before I leave & they grab whatever missing items without any issues & I’m good to go. Unfortunately, today was a little more disappointing. Points aren’t added until the order is done & been released. I got my Points over 20 minutes before I requested my order to be ready, so I asked how long it had been sitting on their shelf because I expected fresh food. The cashier lied (that & her attitude bothered me most about the whole experience) & said it was just put there. I checked it, it was cold, so I asked for it to be remade. They also didn’t add my dressings, but as mentioned before, that wasn’t a huge deal. I got home looked closer at my food, I ordered a pork tostada, the portion was smaller than usual & I received barely a bite of meat which was half fat & the rice was hard & undercooked. Not the best value if that’s what you get.
Edit: occasionally, I feel like this location deserves 5 stars, but then I try again & it’s so bad again. Why is it so hard to measure food out so portions are consistent. I ordered a side of meat. Usually, the container is full, but then I received my most recent order with barely 4 tiny pieces of meat & the queso is usually full, this time half full. I’m still having way more bad experiences than good at this location.

As I walked into this establishment, I had a feeling of excitement as I noticed there was only one person in line, a fine young gentleman. It took them over 5 minutes to take his order alone. After taking his order all staff (all 3 of them) disappeared for around 10 minutes, just leaving he and I waiting. Maybe 7 minutes into our wait, his order fell off of the rack into the trash so it had to be remade anyway. Then finally my turn to order came, and the lady couldn’t even take it as none of the items up front were stocked so she had to refill them all. By the time I got to the register to check out it had been about 20-25 minutes since I walked into the building. By the time I sat down to eat my food it was cold and soggy. The meat was undercooked and very chewy; almost gelatinous. I’ve loved Cafe Rio my whole life and will never stop going but this location will never see my business again.

On Valentine’s Day, 2026, I had a BAD experience at this cafe rio location in Provo.
The ranch dressing tasted expired, and extra spicy. No flavor, just spicy and a weird ranch flavor, the ingredients were not accurate.
They didn’t put our requested salsa on the side of our burritos. Why ask what salsa I want if you’re not going to follow through with it.
We ordered a LARGE chips and guac and we RECEIVED a SMALL chips and guac. 1/3 of the bag had chips, that’s NOT a “large portion”. The guac, was also, HALFWAY full in the little container, that’s also NOT a “large portion”.
And last but not least, despite MISSING food items, SMALL portions and food tasting NOT ACCURATE, TO-GO staff was UNFRIENDLY.
Made me wait in line just to buy some ranch, instead of helping me in the TO-GO order register, they made me wait in line to buy two little ranches, that ended up tasting horrible and expired. They wasted my money and time on VALENTINES DAY. I expected better service, better quality, accurate ingredients and accurate portions !!!

I go to this location a lot because it is in a convenient location for me. The staff are all super friendly and nice. The manager is amazing. He treats his customers and employees wells. He even gave us free drinks one time. That alone is good customer service. They listen to our concerns if we have them. That customer service alone will keep me going there again.
I really like this location and staff. One of the staff came up to me one day just to say hi and talk to me. That really made my day.
Tonight 3/15 was a great night . The staff are awesome. The manager makes sure the customers always have everything . They took the time to make 3 corn tortillas for my sister . The manager gave me extra grilled veggies

Do not come to this location. I made a mobile order thinking it would be faster and it probably took them 30 minutes to get my order to me, meanwhile 4 other people came and left through the lobby while I was waiting. I saw one maybe two people actually making the food. Everyone else seemed to be too focused on cleaning for closing. I was there at 8:30 and they don’t even close until 10 so I don’t know why that was so important at that time. I ordered a kid’s quesadilla in a kids meal and the quesadilla wasn’t grilled at all, there was no cheese. It was superrr soggy because they piled salsa on top of it, which usually that comes on the side in a cup. There was a literal puddle of tomato juice it was sitting in. I ended up throwing it away because of how soggy and gross it got. What a waste of time and money. And the kids meal is supposed to come with a couple sides like oranges and chips with a drink which I didn’t get any of. I would give my visit 0 stars if it was possible.

I come to this Cafe Rio location because it’s close and convenient. It’s so disappointing lately. In my recent 3 or 4 visits, I’ve been told certain key things for the salad either aren’t available (once there were no tortillas and the worker at the drive through couldn’t give a replacement), or it takes an extra 5-10 minutes for the fajita veggies or corn tortillas. Today, I had to wait for an extra 10 minutes if I wanted to have guacamole on my salad. I haven’t seen the usual manager there for a while— and this place is struggling without him! I’ve worked and managed at a fast food place before, and it is very poor that during busy times and slow times, they are not prepared.
If you come to this location and value having ALL the parts of your salad IN your salad, be ready to wait.

i did an online order and when i got to the drive thru to pick it up she said she was unable to fill up the drinks. so she gave me the food at the window and made me come in to fill up the drinks. 2 simple drinks. what’s the point of a drive thru at that point? made me laugh but dang that worker is lazy. got to the window and it was some old lady. i asked again if she could fill them but she just ignored me and closed the window. wack!
