Today, my friend and I decided to go to Café Rio for a nice meal after studying and working hard. It was a HORRIBLE experience! I am soo appalled by what I saw and ate! We ordered the food at 5:30. It was supposed to be done at 6:20 and we had to wait to receive our meal until 7:00pm. Not only that there were other people waiting that were also frustrated and waited even longer than us. Not only that when we got home, there was a 12 inch long hair in my food. It was disgusting and I am horrified and I feel so disrespected Completely in display and appalled at their services. The hair is shown in the photo below. I can’t believe they’re even allowed to be in business. Our burritos were also poorly shaped and completely broken upon order. They were poorly wrapped and completely rushed. If I’m spending this much money on my food, I would at least expect decent quality produced. This was negative infinity below decent and overall I’m not coming back and I suggest you don’t either!!!!!

I hadn’t been to this location for about five years because the last few times I went, I’d gotten gross stuff in my food. I used to be a die-hard Cafe Rio beef kind of person, but two times in a row, I got giant branching beef arteries in my burrito and in my salad. I decided to switch to chicken to play it safe, and the first chicken burrito I ordered had a bone in it. I didn’t go back for years.
Today, my partner and I decided to give it a shot again. I opted for the shredded chicken because there was no way I was gonna be brave enough to try the beef again, and I was thinking that surely the chicken bone from years ago was a one-off. About one-third into my burrito, surprise! An inch long chicken bone. Images attached.
I am so disappointed. I won’t be going back. If you don’t want icky stuff and actual health hazards (imagine the possible repercussions of swallowing a sharp broken chicken bone) in your food, I’m gonna recommend that you don’t go, either.

I’m sharing my review for the hope that things improve because I love Cafe Rio. I’ve gone to this Cafe Rio 5+ times and every single time I order online it is 10-20 minutes later than when they say it to be done. It’s easier to just walk in, put an order in, walk out than order online. Not sure how this happens because there are 9 employees all working.

From a business perspective, this place is bleeding money because it could run with half the number of great employees and save a ton of money just saying.

Sharing this with love hoping it can improve ❤️

The staff were great and friendly. Very speedy as well. Food was excellent quality. Luis was extremely generous and helpful. He came to our table to ensure everything was to our satisfaction. Very sincere. Him and the staff are all hard at work. You can tell, this restaurant is running under great management !

I made an online order and just received my food at 8:19. The original pickup time was at 6:50. I understand that things can get busy so when they said come back in half an hour that was fine. I retuned at 7:30 to give them a little extra time and it still took over 45 minutes while I was in the store. The poor employee was working as fast as she could but the managerial staff seriously needs to figure out what there’re doing. I watched several members from other teams besides Togo absently mess with their phones. 1 1/2 hours for two entrees. I appreciate how hard the to go employees were working but it’ll be a long time before I will revisit any Cafe Rio.

I eat at Cafe Rio once per week and really enjoy it. Had never been to this location, but very disappointed is an understatement. Please see photo of my burrito right before it was wrapped. This is the most pathetic amount of ingredients I have ever seen. When I asked the worker making it to add a little more of each ingredient he rudely stated I would have to pay double for two burritos. All other locations would have double this amount of steak and beans by default. Definitely look elsewhere for better options.

I got a grilled chicken salad. It was good. I really like their horchata so added that. Went at midday in weekday so not too crowded or busy in restaurant. Sometimes at night and weekends is really busy in there & parking more difficult at Millcreek location. My favorite dish here is grilled chicken quesadilla. Most people seem to go for salad or burrito.

I’ve never really had issues with this location or Cafe Rio in general. I got a salad and when I got home I noticed there was literally a small black beetle in my food. I was able to get a refund however, they didn’t seem to think it was a big deal over customer service. Safe to say I won’t be coming back here which sucks as a picky eater this was one of my favorite places

This was the worst experience I’ve ever had. I couldn’t understand anything anyone was saying because they were talking so fast. I asked for the “owners special” that is hanging and featured at the front. They looked at me like I was crazy. I pointed to the special and she still proceeded to ask me what I wanted. They refilled the ranch in the crusty old ranch container in front of me right at close. One employee motioned for the one about to do it to stop. A different employee him waived him on and said it’s fine. Gross. My girlfriend’s sweet pork salad was had a crunchy old cheese tortilla in the bottom. She had to pull it out. We sat down at a table to start eating and then they came over and made us move to the other side of the restaurant because they were cleaning it an hour early. Meanwhile the bathrooms were so bad. There were no specialty drinks. I always look forward to the mint lemonade. We both did not enjoy our food. It did not tastes fresh. The employees yelled and whistled loudly at each other in front of us. Highly disappointed and I’m not typically the type to leave a bad review.

This is not a customer oriented location at all! This is an employee oriented location. Everything is rushed!

I stopped going a couple of years ago to this location and only go when I am really in a hurry and want a burrito. This location is close to work and my home. But they really don’t care about customers experience.

In the winter, the restaurant is cold. Really cold! So cold that a friend’s kids refuse to eat there anymore. All of the people eating there wore winter jackets.

All of the meals are put together fast and rushed. Silverware is thrown into bins. If you eat in the restaurant, all of the tables are pushed inward. So, you have to pull out a table just to eat. Makes customers feel like an afterthought.

They really are not very busy. Yet everything is rushed. Even if you are the only customer in line!

This restaurant went from running a line the entire day years ago to having very few people eat in the restaurant.

The people I work with no longer want to eat there even if it is takeout.
