We had Saturday night reservations and were seated promptly. The overall ambience was very romantic and perfect for date night.

The escargot was delightful, get the 12, don’t bother with the 6.

She ordered the chicken breast with the raspberry sauce and I had the special which was a steak dish with incredible potatoes.

Dessert was their pear dish and it was surprising in all the good ways.

Service was a little sub par – the waitress was unable to help with the vast wine selection, other patrons seemed to be checked on more than us, etc, but it was nothing that spoiled the evening.

We loved our experience and can’t wait to go back. Lovely little restaurant, so happy we found this place.

My favorite French restaurant in Houston. Consistently good and has been for many years, you feel like you’re in France in a small, crowded French restaurant surrounded by wine bottles, crowded tables, good bread and wine, and not overly fancy interior just good classic French food. Lovely and special place for a romantic date night.

Ordered a ribeye steak medium rare and it came out fully well done. The waitress clearly acknowledged and 15 minutes later they brought another stakeout that was 50% fat and gristle. Meat quality on both Cuts was not very good given the $60.00 price tag. You can get a much better cut of beef almost anywhere else.

This place offers your traditional French cuisine. The overall taste of their dishes are above average.
Their portion sizes are similar for the Houston area.
The quality of their beef was slightly below average especially with the price they are charging.
I really like their big and juicy muscles.
But don’t get the duck breast, it is dry not juicy at all.

We came here for a double date dinner with some dear friends. This restaurant gives NYC French cozy vibes and has great food and wine. Highly recommend the escargot and pate special for appetizers and steak au poivre, moules rabelais, and beef bourguignonne for entrees. We also had the raspberry tarte along with some coffees and hot tea. Definitely worth visiting if you’re looking for a solid and authentic French spot in Houston!

Amazing place! Real authentic French Bistro food with true high quality American service. The best of the two worlds! We tryed and recommend: french onion soup, bone Marrow, boeuf bourguignon and foie gras stuffed quail. The place is nice and comfortable, service is nice and professional. Deserves 6 stars!

Was looking forward to being able to taste some good Ole French dishes and see how they compared to when I used to live in France.

For the most part, they got the atmosphere and some of the dishes right.

To start, we had their Escargot, meat & chese charcuterie board, and their Foie Gras.

The Escargot was a little too salty for our taste. Not too salty to finish, but enough to ruin the flavors.

The charcuterie platter was a nice mix. No complaints.

And the Foie Gras, along with the side of caramelized onions, was awesome. It tasted just like what I remember having for breakfast while in France.

For our main course, we had the stuffed quail and the lamb.

The lamb was nice but was still lacking in flavor. And I would have appreciated more sauce or something else added to the vegetables.

The stuff quail was great! The birds’ ribcage and spine were cleared, leaving only the legs and wing bones. The bird was then filled with stuffing. Making cutting into and eating the bird a very pleasurable experience. Would deffentily try again.

Finally, for desert. We had the poached pear with ice cream and one of my favorite deserts from France, profiteroles.

The poached pear was decent. But I feel it could have spent a bit more time simmering to soften it up more.

But the profitarolls… those were the most disappointing part of the whole meal. French profitarolls are supposed to be a fresh puff pastry filled with vanilla creme. Then it’s only supposed to be topped with whipped creme and sided with icecreme as a compliment.

What I got was vanilla icecreme, sandwiched between a cut in half & stale puff pastry.

No vanilla creme.

I may as well have been served an icecreme sandwich…

Overall, for the price, I think I’ll give this place a pass for future meals.

Granted, your experience may differ.

Beautiful place for dinner. They have a nice wine lists from many regions of France. Escargots, fromages, foie gras are all good. Authentic duck confit. Rack of lambs is a bit chewy; wish they could use better source of lamb meat. Cafe Liegeois is a must to try. Love it.

Went to the village for some gourmet Mexican dessert and ended up having some French cuisine next door! The place looks very inviting, so we walked in, not knowing what to expect. The atmosphere was very cozy and the food was great! They have an amazing wine list, but unfortunately, I am not familiar with European wines but ended up picking an enjoyable medium bodied bottle. For starters, we had mussels and bone marrow. We truly enjoyed both! Our entrées were Filet Mignon and Trout. We love the experience, and the only downside was that we felt a little left out by our server. We noticed all his other tables were constantly getting their waters and wine poured but not ours. Maybe they were all his regulars, and we were new faces, and the fact that we were completely under dressed, I am sure, didn’t help! Dinner was not part of the plan, so we were extremely casual. Overall, we enjoyed it very much and will definitely go back.
