Our contemporary coastal cuisine is driven by locally sourced seafood, meats, and produce. Our menu changes frequently in accordance with the fresh ingredients our chefs discover on the island, most notably the fresh local seafood we feature. The fish we serve each evening is frequently taken from the nets of friends that very morning. We are committed to supporting local farmers and artisan food producers first, sustainable resources second, and organic third.

Our Yoga and Wellness Retreat at The Inn on Pamlico Sound was truly exceptional. Cafe Pamlico prepared a perfect menu for our group and the food was excellent and thoughtfully presented. The welcoming staff provided family-like warmth and hospitality, making us feel right at home. Wine tasting with Natasha was fun and generous. The yoga deck was perfect for our practice, and the food was some of the best I’ve ever had. We can’t wait to return with our group next year!

We walked in, within an hour of closing but the sign says walk-ins are acceptable. We were greeted by a very quiet hostess, and I have a low voice but I was still very confused by her and we followed her because I thought she was seating us but she was giving two menus to a different table so we awkwardly walked back and a different server acknowledged us to make sure we got seated. Didn’t have to wait too long. The ambience is very nice, minus the bugs if you sit outside.

I try a lobster bisque at every restaurant that offers it. This has to be one of the worst, unfortunately we got two so $28 down the drain. Absolutely no flavor, too much cream, and barely any lobster or sherry flavor. I was really disappointed but didn’t send it back. Just took it as a loss.

We were offered bread and butter but only received one and we had to ask for a second one and they said that was the last one they had left. Never ran into that problem at high end or fast casual restaurants so was a bit taken aback by that.

Filet of Neptune was pretty good, asked for medium rare but it was a little on the bloodier side — closer to rare. Shrimp and grits also pretty good, but the grits were lacking but the sauce and flavor made up for it overall.

I understand we were seated about 45 minutes to closing but was overall disappointed based on the price to value. Perhaps there is better service and food if you arrive earlier, something to keep in mind.

This was my second time going out for date night dinner there. Ordered the Fresh Catch of the day and Roasted Lamb for our entrees, the Olives and Feta for appetizer, and both the Lemon & Raspberry sorbet for dessert. My man doesn’t typically go for any sort of seafood at all and he absolutely loved the Fresh Catch along with the delicious sides. My Roasted Lamb was cooked to perfection and the pesto gnocchi that went with it was divine. I’m personally not an olive fan so the appetizer was bought more for my man, but the bread that came out with it was soo good. My man was very happy with the olives and feta. The lemon sorbet and the raspberry sorbet were definitely the best way to finish off the dinner even though we were both overstuffed.
We finally got to go to breakfast as well and we both ordered The Cure which was so good and filling. I would definitely recommend visiting this restaurant for breakfast and dinner. We very much plan on trying to hit it up for their lunch and brunch eventually too.
Along with both breakfast and dinner the drinks we ordered were so flavorful and very good. I will note that we personally prefer to book reservations for meals that we plan on having there.

We have had family members eat here for breakfast, and they said they really liked the food and atmosphere. We made a reservation for brunch, but had to wait for a bit to get seated. Not a big deal. Then once we were seated, it was very, very slow. The server was very nice, but it took about over an hour to get our food and had to try to flag her down multiple times for different things we needed. Multiple tables came, and then left early because they were never served after being seated. This might be because it was brunch time, since breakfast time was not bad. Unfortunately, our food was kind of cold at that point.

As for food options, there are gluten free options. In our group, those that ordered the crab cake sandwich and the Brie burger said their food was delicious. I ordered the Crab Frites. Personally, I wasn’t the biggest fan of the dish. It was French fries, tons of shredded cheese with a crab sauce. I would prefer to try the shrimp and grits another time based on other reviews.

Cost wise: for brunch/lunch it cost between $15-30. Dinner is more pricey. Compared to other restaurants in the area, dinner cost is a little more expensive, but on par for the cost of the area for casual fine dining.

The atmosphere was very nice. Great view from the cafe of the water. There is a dock you can walk to.

Personally, I might try it one more time to see if it’s a different experience.

Loved this spot! The ambiance is beautiful and the staff is super friendly. I had the coconut rice bowl with shrimp and it was so good, perfectly cooked and full of flavor. I was there with a group of women wrapping up a healing retreat, and this dinner felt like the perfect celebration to close out our time in Hatteras. The cocktails (and mocktails) were not only delicious but also looked amazing; bright, colorful, and fun. The owner was incredibly kind, had a sweet sense of humor, and made us feel right at home. After dinner, we asked about renting the fire pit by the water and he happily made it happen. He and his adorable pup even came out to light the fire and hang with us for a bit…just the nicest vibe all around. Highly recommend!

It’s absolutely incredible! We made reservations to make sure we were good for seating. Appetizers were incredible and had so much depth and complexity. Very fresh ingredients. They have amazing bourbon list from blantons to eagle rare and many more. The main course was served just as Appetizers were cleared. I ordered the blackened scallops, my daughter the steak and lobster. Others in our party got the special tile fish. It was about 500 for the meal but was so worth it. Great views and food. I highly recommend if you looking for upscale dining.

Since we stayed at The Inn at Pamlico Sound, we decided to take advantage of the restaurant on site for our anniversary dinner. Ashley welcomed us and took care of us the whole evening. She was so nice and her service was efficient. The food was to die for! We had the Fried Cauliflower for an appetizer, I had the lobster bisque and the beet and arugula salad with a crab cake for dinner, and my husband had the scallops carbonara for dinner. Everything was fresh, very tasty and satisfying. We also had the flourless chocolate cake for dessert. It was super rich and delicious.
We also got room service for breakfast the next morning and the Chorizo Burrito is amazing. We were shocked at how big the burrito was. It had amazing flavor and was very filling.
I would come back in a heartbeat!

My wife and I absolutely loved our experience at Café Pamlico. The staff was awesome and incredibly personable, making us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. The views of the Sound were simply unreal and created the perfect backdrop for dinner. The food was exquisitely chef-prepared with a true local North Carolina coastal flair. It was truly an unforgettable dining experience, and we can’t wait to return.

We didn’t have a reservation but they were able to accommodate us at the bar which felt intimate. The restaurant is naturally beautiful, but the food is insanely delicious. It’s obvious the chef puts love and passion into the food; a radical departure from most of the tourist traps around the OBX. The food is fairly priced for how high quality it is, and we will definitely be back in the future. Highly recommend this gem (and reservations!)

This is a wonderful restaurant with an amazing view of the sound. The food is exquisite and the service is very friendly. When they have live music, it adds to its great ambience. Highly recommend the shrimp & grits – it is one of a kind. You can’t go wrong with anything on their menu – they have a nice variety.
