Such wonderful food, drinks, ambience and most of all service! The ceasar, burger & frites and the pacific sole meuniere were so delicious! So were our drinks, french 75 and the harvest martini. Our server Clabe was so warm and attentive, we will definitely be back!

This place been ignored to put it mildly. Definitely overrated. Food is NOT freshly made! We ordered salmon hash, steak and eggs and pancakes. Zoom in to see the quality. The salmon stank and was old and bland and tasteless! The potato wedges were old too! Asparagus, kale and pancakes were all burnt up! The entire place stank and was dirty. You could tell the carpets were not cleaned for ages! Dust and gunk every corner. The server was a decent gentleman but could not spare a smile at us. I do not recommend this place. Hideous.

Excellent food and service in a laid back setting. The omelette and salad were perfectly prepared and filling. The crispy “home fries” are really nugget sized steak fries and totally addictive.

I guess I expected more. We tried this place for brunch, and the food was just “ok”. My Benedict was fine, but it wasn’t anything special and it wasn’t tasty. My partner got the breakfast sandwich and it wasn’t good at all. In the menu is said caramelized onion and balsamic tomato, but the onion was barely caramelized and the tomato was just a tomato. Imagine an egg and tomato sandwich. Staff were nice.

Great space but one of the more disappointing experiences I’ve had. The menu looks solid and food presentation was great. But its execution and the price it comes at with the slow service makes this a pass.

Puffed scallop pastry was really good. Best thing we ate. Pesto pasta was also pretty good. But the chicken was over salted, the $4 shrimp (each) were also underwhelming, vegan risotto was over salted as well. Crab butter salad was portioned as a side salad but was fresh and vibrant. Side bread was cold, tough and not worth serving other than to fill a belly after a $190 dinner.

Cute little neighborhood cafe with a bar, indoor and covered outdoor seating. It’s an artisan menu so expect small to medium sized appetizers and entree dishes. If you come in with a large appetite, you might need two entrees. The flavors are really great and the cocktails are tasty.

Disappointing Valentine’s Day spot. Had a reservation for 8pm. Got seated immediately, but we could tell things were a mess. The couple behind us left because they hadn’t been served. The couple next to us said they had waited for 90 minutes before their food arrived, then we watched them try and fail to flag down staff for 5 minutes because they didn’t have cutlery. Overheard a waiter encouraging another table to hold on their food order just order drinks because the kitchen was “small” and really backed up. We waited 25 minutes at the table with no contact from any of the staff before leaving.

This was my third visit, and frankly, they’ve all been like this. Extremely slow and inattentive staff, citing the small kitchen. This seems like a trap Cafe Nell is setting for itself. If your kitchen throughput isn’t sufficient for the number of patrons, simply don’t take the reservations.

I rarely ever leave reviews but I felt like I had to this time. I came here for Valentine’s Day dinner and sat by the bar. The service was truly awful. My partner and I could hear the waiters complaining all night about how busy it was. I know a lot of couples had their valentines dinners ruined by this restaurant. Hour long waits for food, being brought wrong items without correction, getting no service. We sat for over 30 minutes before even being approached. They had no dessert left by 8 PM. Cafe Nell I beg of you, do not provide reservations that you cannot accommodate. Hire more staff. Be PREPARED!! There’s no excuse, truly.

It’s been a while since I visited this place. I liked that they have a great outdoor seating area that’s covered. I had the French Dip and a side of fries. I enjoyed the beef from the sandwich, and the dip made the meat better. The fries were off good size to share with another person. Overall, it was a good place to go to, and i would go back for happy hour.

It’s become a tradition for my dad and I to come here brunch and a Bloody Mary before I go back to Seattle after Thanksgiving. I do wish they still offered the eggs Benedict brunch on Fridays. The sausage hash is really good, and this year I did the chilaquiles, which was also very tasty. The Bloody Marys have changed over the years, it seems like they’ve become less grandiose and more simplified, but they are still very tasty and have a day’s worth veggies. All in all, I do look forward to stopping in each year for that breakfast and Bloody Mary.
