We came here based on the strong reviews, but the experience didn’t quite match what we expected. The food was standard breakfast fare—nothing exceptional. The manager or owner was friendly during the initial greeting, but our assigned server provided very minimal service.

We waited over five minutes before anyone approached our table, and all we had asked for was water. Another server eventually brought our drinks, and he was the one who ended up helping multiple times throughout the meal. The coffee we ordered never came from our waitress; again, another staff member had to step in. Even a simple water refill didn’t make it to our table unless we asked someone else. It felt more like counter service than a traditional sit-down experience, and it was disappointing to see other tables receiving attentive service while ours was consistently overlooked.

The food itself was okay. The bacon was a bit fatty, the biscuit was dry, and the plating looked rushed. The restaurant offers a nice patio, but parking is limited to street parking since the building is small and located in a neighborhood.

While we love supporting small businesses, the service made it difficult to fully enjoy the visit. If we were in the area again, we’d likely try a different spot. This restaurant seems to be hit-or-miss depending on the level of service you receive.

Cute little place for well-crafted paninis, po’boys and salads. Stopped by here before visiting City Park. I had the Sesame Salad, spouse had the Shepherd’s Pie Special, both quite tasty.

I was looking for a simple breakfast and decided to try this place… It’s located on a corner in a neighborhood. It’s a pretty chill spot with a chill vibe. I got the 3 eggs plate, scrambled, with potatoes and toast. The eggs were cooked perfectly and tasted good. The potatoes were hot, slightly crispy, and seasoned well. The toast was delicious as well. If I’m in the area again, I’d definitely like to try some other things on the menu!!

Stopped in on a Sunday at noon. Self seat, ordered a fully dressed roast beef poboy and cheese and gravy fries that I added hot sauce and ketchup to, and a root beer. Was pretty good, I’d go back. I sat outside, where they have fans so it wasn’t horribly hot. Very dog friendly and a lot of kids also, while I was there. Nice little neighbor joint

We flew into New Orleans with a craving for eggs Benedict. The staff were so nice! They made us breakfast in the middle of lunch time. The food was amazing and we ate it all. Didn’t even get to take a picture of the food… just the empty plate.

Ate here on Saturday morning, it was busy, but we were seated promptly. Water’s and silverware were brought immediately. Our server, “Angie”(I think that was her name), was spot on and super friendly. The food was delicious. I will be back again. It was fantastic!

Oh, we came back on Sunday, even busier than yesterday! Bad experience at another local restaurant. We came here. Again, fantastic service.

I’ve been wanting to dine at Cafe Navarre for a really long time and finally got the chance on a weekday morning. It’s street parking only but I found a park easily. I imagine it would have been more of a challenge on the weekend. When we entered, we were able to sit wherever we wanted and chose a table in the elevated section of the restaurant. The biscuit was sliced open, buttered, grilled and most importantly, it was on point! I wasn’t a fan of the grits but the other guest loved them. The omelet was decent, maybe slightly overcooked, but had good flavor. I’m definitely glad that I tried this place, but think there are better options around.

A true neighborhood restaurant! This adorable Cafe is the perfect place to get great food with great service. The staff know the menu and give great recommendations. They also know their customers, I over heard so many warm greetings and catching up after travels.

The food was very good! I got the pest chicken sandwich and my partner got the turkey avocado. Both were great and the sweet potato fries are so good! We also got a bowl of their shrimp corn chowder, a little heat and lots of shrimp!

I can’t wait to go back for breakfast or the happy hour soon!

Street parking is free and can be a little hard to find during busy hours.

This was a nice find near City Park. Food was fresh and inexpensive. I had a delicious Cobb salad and my husband tried the Cuban. We were both pleased.
