Today we visited this place, and it was absolutely amazing! It felt almost like a French restaurant, and I highly recommend it. The cuisine was outstanding—so delicious that you can’t even imagine! They offer both a daily menu and a regular menu, which makes it even more interesting.
We didn’t get the chance to try dessert this time, but I’ll definitely come back for that—I’m sure of it. The atmosphere was very authentic and full of soul, and the people there (I think they might be the owners) were so kind and welcoming.
Thank you for such a wonderful experience! I can’t wait to return.

Went there for a Valentine’s Day dinner and it was a total disaster. Completely under staffed – only one server and one bus person. Sat there for a half hour and were only served water and no bread. Tried to get the waitress’s attention but was blown off. Was supposed to get a complimentary champagne but none offered. Had to go up and get our own menus. It was prix fixe but with no price shown. They also crammed more tables in for the occasion so I kept getting bumped by the bus person. I get it, sometimes you’re understaffed due to illnesses or people quitting, but you tell your patrons and apologize. Tonight they just ignored us. Never did this before but we left. This restaurant has been enjoyable in the past but tonight they completely blew it.

This is hands down my fave restaurant in the area. Intimate setting with amazing French food (BYOB) – perfect for a date night. Menu changes often, but the lamb chops never disappoint. I’m patiently waiting for the oxtail gnocchi to grace the menu again (chefs kiss). Profiteroles were great for dessert, and were actually way better than one I ordered at a Paris restaurant.
Food can sometimes take a bit to get to your table after ordering but always worth the wait. You will need a reservation for holidays

Really awful Valentine’s dinner experience. They were clearly understaffed and underprepared (weird for a restaurant that’s been in town for 20 years). Service was abysmal and people were upset. We arrived at 7pm and were not served appetizer till 9:15pm, when they admitted they had never put our order in. Then another 35 minutes for entree to arrive. I ordered beef medium well and it arrived rare. Asked for dessert to go. Was given a half-sized dessert for us to share, when table of 3 next to us got 3 full size portions. We were shocked when the bill arrived without any apology or comping anything. We really should have walked out early on (we saw another couple do so) but felt bad and wanted to give them benefit of doubt. Won’t do that again. It’s a shame because the food (especially on a previous visit, last year) can be excellent.

Had 11:30 reservation on 2/14. We were a party of 2. 10 minutes after being seated we had to retrieve our own menus. After 1 hr our food was not served. We had papermill tickets so we had to leave. Got the food to go. While no longer as hot we ate it in the papermill courtyard. The food was very good. Ther service was awful. Will not go back.

Intimate and decorated setting with welcoming service. BYOB. Everything we ordered was delicious. The starter croissant and fruit plate went above and beyond your typical bread basket. The ox tail was a rich and perfectly portioned. The chicken Caesar salad was very fresh with a generous portion of chicken. The octopus was cooked perfectly. The quiche of the day was creamy with brie and had a beautifully delicate crust. We also ordered blood orange lemonades: tangy and packed with pulp. Our iced macchiato was also lovely.

First of all let me say that I’ve never been to a true French restaurant in my life. It was a fortuitous impromptu dinner that brought me here. It was a revelation to dine here. The main reason is that all patrons and servers shared and understood that a Saturday night repast had no business being harried. Nor did it need to be unreasonable in price. I enjoyed a fantastic Hanger Steak with frittes and fresh young salad leaves. The whole plate was abundantly flavored and proportionately just. The owner and chef hand-delivered all his creations. At first, I didn’t realize this because of his humility… nice touch and a great look. Anyway, enjoy this gem if you wish to tarry a while and enjoy your company and the culinary stylings.

We recently had an amazing dining experience at Café Monet in Millburn, NJ. The restaurant offers delicious French cuisine. We started with the Red Onion Tarte Tatin with Goat Cheese and the Wild Mushroom Strudel, both of which were bursting with flavor and beautifully presented. For the main course, we ordered the Rabbit and Steak, and both were cooked to perfection. The dessert, Apple Tarte Tatin, was a classic and delicious.
The restaurant’s design is captivating, with numerous paintings adorning the walls, adding to the overall dining experience.
Overall, Café Monet is highly recommended for anyone looking to enjoy authentic French cuisine in a unique and charming setting in Millburn, NJ. We will definitely be returning when we’re back in the area.

A very cozy place. We went my wife, son and I because somebody recommended to us. The experience and nice. I liked having the menu for main dishes but also having this nice buffet bar with selected things. I loved the pickle section of the buffet, as well as the grapefruit already ready to eat. I ordered Benedict (as always) and they were good, served in a nice presentation and with a side salad that was really tasteful. My wife had Eggs Ratatouille which she like them a lot. Is a good option to go on a nice Sunday, in a really nice town.
