This place consistently churns out great food and atmosphere. It’s definitely worth seeing at least once. The food is made fresh the second you order it. The owner keeps the dining area clean and stocked with interesting knick knacks that are also for sale. I need to buy an African mask next time I go there. The dining area can get warm, but that would be my only criticism.

Small little family owned restaurant, where the owner comes and greets you at the door and sits you down and gives you the menu. The food here is sort of what you would expect at a diner, and in very large portions but it tastes great. The one thing that this place is famous for is it’s hotcakes, they are kind of like pancakes but are lighter and fluffier (would recommend adding berries and syrup to them). Also, the decor of this place is a bit odd, they do have quite a few paintings up some of Asian art, and some samurai. Good place I would definitely come back.

Café Miami has been open for 14 years, and after going in for the first time the other day, I can understand why. It’s so different from any other place I can’t really explain it, but Larry, and his sister are so awesome. The nicest people you’ll ever meet. The prices are great, and the food is fantastic! My only regret is that I never went there sooner (seeing as I lived literally down the street for years).

No more food! Great place, Larry is awesome but he’s not cooking breakfast anymore
It’s a great place for collectibles, trinkets and jewelry. Also if you want good local art, he’s got a lot and is a wonderful artist.

If I could give 0 stars I would! I will start by saying that I can’t comment on the food because I never got an opportunity to try it. We tried to grab Sunday Brunch here because Sabor Miami Cafe was closed due to family emergency. By the way, Sabor Miami Cafe has AMAZING food and coffee, and the service was excellent!

Because this was a last minute change, we called Cafe Miami and asked if they could seat a party of 9. They told us that they were slammed, but they would find a way to seat us even if not together. We agreed to that because of the positive reviews, and we knew we didn’t have a reservation.

When we arrived, we noticed that there were only 3 people in the cafe and no evidence that it was ever “slammed”. This was the first sense of dishonesty. We tried to get some of the party seated while the rest of the party parked the cars. First, this place looked like an antique shop had an explosion. I actually like places with a bit of character, but this was over the top! The greeter tried to suggest how we could sit, but the. He kept changing his mind. We said that we had figured it out, but he wouldn’t listen to us.

Then, when we had all finally arrived and found places to sit, we were provided with breakfast and lunch menus. We tried to order from the lunch menus, but were told that we couldn’t order off the lunch menu. Then we tried to order from the breakfast menu but we’re told some items weren’t available. So we asked what we could order, and we were told that because of the size of the party, we couldn’t order anything on the menu. This made no sense! Why would you give someone two menus and then tell them they couldn’t order anything off them?!?

The greeter then said that they could only make us a “250 special”. When we asked what kind of food it was, we were told it was basic American breakfast food, eggs, bacon, etc. Do we asked if there was any Cuban food since that’s what we read they served. Nope. At this point the greeter asked us to leave despite the fact that everyone in the party had been exceedingly patient and polite to him despite disappointment after disappointment. The other family there was shocked by the way we were treated and gave us several suggestions for other good local places.

What an interesting eclectic cafe with a healing room in the basement. But the best part of the experience is the friendliness of the owner and his employee. It was like being invited into a friend’s living room. What a great addition to Old Brooklyn.

A great place for a leisurely, late breakfast or lunch or brunch !!! The food is always good, beautifully presented, and the service can’t be beat. Not your typical eatery – both the Café & the Owner are very interesting ! I have been a customer for more than a few years, and can recommend it on many enjoyable visits & meals !

My wife liked their corned beef hash. There French toast was better than average. NOT the best coffee. A bit boastful for a place that needs some cleaning and organizing.

Amazing and authentic food! Had the tropi chop with a cuban coffee…delicious! My 2 year old LOVES the ham and cheese empanadas. Service is on the slower side, but it adds to the charm. A must go!
