I think this is one of the most authentic restaurants I’ve ever experienced in the USA. The Bolognese was top-notch—rich, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. The calamari appetizer was absolutely delicious… yum yum!

It’s truly one of the best restaurants I’ve ever been to.

A special thank you to Amy, our wonderful waitress, for the warm and attentive service, and to Sergio the chef for creating such amazing dishes.

Highly recommended

My wife and I Visited Cafe Mezzanotte on Valentine’s Day. The service was incredible. Very friendly and personable. The food was top notch. The atmosphere was very quiet and calm, maybe a bit too much so. My only true complaint throughout the entire evening was the chairs being old, VERY cracked leather. It’s not very reassuring when you go to sit down and pieces of your chair are falling off. Other than that, it was an fantastic night out.

When my fiance and I arrived, we didn’t know if it was open because there weren’t many people inside or even outside. I was more hesitant but as soon as I walked in, I was impressed with the interior space. As a designer and all things architecture, I was immediately satisfied with the ambiance and the approach from our server.
As we looked at the menu, I could tell right away that it was authentic and just the right amount of appetizers and entree’s.
Our server was extremely helpful and made the perfect suggestions for drinks and even told us a little bit about this restaurant and that it’s been there for 25 years! I was shocked since I never heard about this place and I cannot wait to share with friends and family; even anyone who is traveling through Delaware. It is a must try. It was very slow but it really was nice to have a casual night out to a quiet dinner setting.
The food was amazing and loved the portions and craft that the chef curated. I had the groundhog cocktail and the lobster ravioli. If he doesn’t have an award, he really deserves one. I recommend this to anyone who is looking for a night out for dinner or even a larger group. The prices are very affordable compared to other restaurants that aren’t even really that good. This is a must visit!

I rarely write reviews because after leaving NYC and living in different States, it has been difficult to match the dining experiences we had in our beloved city. Cafe Mezzanote, however, did just that. From feeling welcomed(bcz of our diverse background), to the wonderful staff, the atmosphere and the very well made food, 10/10 would recommend. If you are looking for a great dining experience overall, please visit this top tier gem.

If you’re wanting Italian food, come here. This place is truly an amazing hidden gem, like some of these other reviews say. I wish more people knew about this food so they stay open, so I won’t gatekeep, but the quiet and quick service is so nice. We got the bolognese and chicken parm, and for dessert we had the tiramisu. Whoever said in these reviews that the tiramisu had too much cocoa powder…the cocoa powder might be the most expensive part of the whole dish. The beef in the bolognese was almost too much beef, but this just goes to show that the chef/owner does not cut corners or skimp on the food, like a lot of restaurants do and get away with. Restaurants operate on slim margins, and I most definitely got the bang for my buck here.

Went here to celebrating the combo of my son birthday and Father’s Day and all foods that we ordered were delish, had no leftovers to bring home because we finished it all.
The place was not busy which on Monday and will definitely come again to try the other dishes. Great job for the Chef Sergio makes the fantastic meals.

Solo in Wilmington on business, the menu at the hotel restaurant didn’t look appetizing, so I looked for a close-by restaurant, and I found this restaurant on Google. First plus, they spelled the food correctly. I found that this was the most authentic Italian restaurant I have been to in a while. Having lived in Italy, I know my Italian food! The chef came by, and we spoke in Italian about the food. He really knew what he was talking about. Try this restaurant if you are in the area, you will love it.

Service and atmosphere was great. Food was good. For parking, you would have to either use the garage (they have discounted price) or have to find a parking spot in the street.

Went to this restaurant while visiting Wilmington. It had a very elevated vibe and the staff were very friendly. The cocktails and food had nice presentations. The mussels and gelato were delicious. Unfortunately, the main courses (pastas and steak dishes) were lacking in flavor. Overall, not worth the price.

Overall great food and always friendly staff. Great old school Italian food and vibes. The drink selection is great, and the mussels are some of the best I’ve ever had. For an entree I’d definitely recommend the chicken parm.
