Finally tried this new Italian restaurant (opened in June) and so glad we did. Atmosphere was very mellow, with candlelit tables and beautiful, eye catching Italian Frescos on the walls. Best part too…many comfortable booths for dining; I’m a fan of booths! While the wine list may be limiting for some, I appreciated that the few choices would pair well with the menu. I opted for a Bosso Sangiovese blend which really paired well with my meal, and it was only $30! On to the food, the 8 hour Ragu is fantastic; thick with mouth watering meats. If I had an Italian Grandma, she’d have been jealous! Our specific order: started with Caprese; Mozzarella was creamy with a nice hint of salt. Tomatoes surprised us, as Florida fruits aren’t remarkable; these tomatoes were ripe and flavorful. The appetizer was delicious and way too big for two people. Warm bread was also served and it was crusty on the outside, soft inside. It was so good that I had to pace myself. I had pasta & meatballs for my main (in the Ragu!). My partner had eggplant parmigiana. – We were in the middle of eating when I realized I forgot to take photos! You can see how large the portions are, given we were a 1/4 way into our meal when I took the pictures. Partner is a man of few words; He described his meal as, “really good”! Translation: “it was excellent.” The meatballs, four very good sized, were fork soft, no knife needed. These were absolutely the best meatballs I had ever had. I really appreciated the perfectly cooked al dente pasta too. For dessert, we shared a tiramisu which was presented on dish glazed with a Kalua and Baileys sauce – need I say more?! Our waitress Shelby was a sweetheart. She kept a very good serving pace, permitting us to savor the dishes. She was also very knowledgeable about the menu. Chef Massé also visited our table after our entrees. We found him charming and really experienced in the restaurant industry. As a bonus, we learned he too is a transplant with a fondness for San Diego like we are! I highly recommend.

Go!!! Don’t walk, run! This is a hidden gem you don’t want to miss. It was a perfect date night spot and a very welcoming, comfortable vibe. Chef Masse defines what a restaurant owner should be; from the delicious menu, to coming out to chat table side, he took our order, and then he was cleaning tables alongside the waitress. We were very impressed. We also had a sweet waitress with excellent recommendations. We enjoyed every bite of our pasta dishes. The penne vodka was absolutely delicious and is now my #1 for any local vodka sauce. We can’t wait to go back!

We both ordered the chicken parm, which I never do it just sounded good, and it was. The sauce was very good and I am picky about my sauce.

We cannot wait to go back! My fiancé passes Cafe Masse when he goes to and from work each day and wanted to give it a try, so we took the trek up from St Pete. Everything about our evening was amazing.
It is so cute and romantic inside, the food was delicious, and chef even came to our table to deliver our dinner. Give it a go- you won’t be disappointed!

Great new Italian restaurant. Wine is very reasonably priced, good selection of pasta, veal and chicken dishes. Excellent gelato for dessert. Chef owner came to talk to us and as a really nice guy. The decor is real nice with a big mural of Italy. This restaurant only opened in June and deserves your support for good food at good prices.

My husband and I accidently stumbled on a wonderful authentic Italian restaurant when we stopped in at Cafe Masse in Clearwater on a recent Sunday evening for a spur of the moment meal. The restaurant’s ambiance was inviting, as was our server Shelby. We had some questions regarding the menu and Shelby offered to consult with the chef, who took the time to come to our table to answer our inquiries. Our meals were delicious! The handmade gnocchi, prepared traditionally, but finished with a tasty, buttery caramelized crust left you wanting more. A generous plate of linguini, accompanied by aglio sauce and enhanced with the addition of delightful mushrooms, only added to the culinary treat. An accompanying glass of a red blend wine (with an ‘old fashioned pour’ you don’t see any more) was extremely satisfying.
We highly recommend you try this establishment the next time you’re hungry and have a taste for authentic Italian food. You will not be disappointed.

My wife and I stopped in for dinner and we were not disappointed!! Our server Andrew made some great recommendations off the menu. My wife had the Salmon Champagne and I had veal saltimbocca and both were exceptional. My only critique was the beer selection, but the Sangria substitute went well with our dishes.
