I love this cafe and all pastries and food they serve.
I always order cakes here for all occasions so I had no doubts with ordering a wedding cake and pastries for my son’s wedding. But the result exceeded all my expectations! The cake was outstanding and all guests absolutely loved it! Anne made small pastries to serve for the cocktail hour and they saved the day!
Thank you to Anne and all her amazing and friendly staff who always welcome you and make you feeling at home.

The raspberry tiramisu was absolutely delicious. The mushroom and salmon quiches were also very good and flavorful. Unfortunately, the latte was quite weak and lacked flavor. Overall, though, it’s a lovely spot for breakfast !

This French-style café and bakery was a great spot to work remotely. I started with a single shot of espresso—it was rich and strong, far better than your typical chain coffee. The space has a charming vibe with plenty of seating, and the staff were friendly and helpful. I tried a pancake served with butter and fresh fruit, as well as a baked quiche with prosciutto and cheese (wish I had snapped a photo!). Beyond pastries and croissants, they also offer sandwiches, soups, and salads for lunch. The café had a steady flow of guests, with many choosing to sit and relax. The Wi-Fi was reliable, and I had no trouble working for a few hours. Overall, I loved the ambiance and food—would definitely return!

I’ve been a loyal customer since moving to JC a few years ago. While the staff isn’t always the warmest, the food has consistently been excellent, which keeps me coming back.
However, today I bought two eclairs, and when I opened the box later, both were placed upside down [icing completely stuck to the bottom]. That didn’t feel like an accident; it felt oddly intentional, and I honestly have no idea why.
This won’t stop me from returning, because the baked goods are truly great, but I’ll definitely be double-checking my boxes before leaving the store from now on.

Downtown JC is full of cute corner restaurants / bakeries, and Cafe Madelaine is a perfect example. It’s a great spot for breakfast pastries, with plenty of room for indoor and outdoor seating.
Ironically, we came here right after spending a week in the South of France, and I have to say, Madelaine can hold its own. We shared the Leek and Parmesan Cheese Danish, the Raspberry Croissant and the Chocolate Jumelle. The first two were great quality, but the Jumelle was too thick and doughy for my liking.
Will be back to sample their amazing selection of quiches.

We came in on Sunday ~1150am, apparently just after their weekend morning rush and dined in. Service was friendly and helpful (thanks Millie!).
Salmon brioche was fantastic! 100% would order again. Eggs were cooked nicely.
I’m eyeing the quiche for my next visit!
I appreciated the chocolate mousse, the right consistency (though my preference is a slightly darker chocolate).
