Amazing night with great food and service. I found Cafe La Scala from open table review. The location is not in the Main Street of Los Altos. I’m surprised that I didn’t notice through these years. But the food is delicious! I have the seafood angels hair. The waiter gave us some spice from his garden which is absolutely delicious! My friend was so happy when they brought in the cake to celebrate her birthday. Definitely a hidden gem in Los Altos. Highly recommended.

La Scala is a good neighborhood Italian restaurant that we go to frequently. We started off with two salads Caprese and Caesar. My entree was th sole which is cooked in a lemon butter sauce. Always well done. Shared multiple deserts including a Tiramisu, gelato and canolini

A little rough around the edges but a nice little spot. The service was great, our server was attentive and nice. The food was priced lower than most upscale Italian restaurants and I enjoyed the mushroom ravioli quite a bit. Their Sofia pizza was good, but the truffle was forward.

Cocktails were yummy, but there’s no corkage fee for your first two bottles of wine, so bring some from home!

Food – Nice menu selection. We ordered a sea bass and mushroom ravioli. The sea bass was fresh but borderline salty. The sauce was smooth and rich with flavors, nearly justifying the $38 price tag of the dish. Mushroom ravioli on the other hand was spot on in terms of taste and the presentation. Being a vegetarian dish, I would have preferred something more like some spinach in the ravioli. Other than that no complaints in the food department. We ordered a triple chocolate mousse for dessert and that was the best mousse I have ever had.

Ambience and service – This restaurant is a nice cozy place with exposed bricks on the sides and vibrant lighting. The restaurant staff were amazing – they explained the specials for the day to us, kept checking on us from time to time.

This unassuming place was such a refreshing treat! The ambience was absolutely lovely.

Mains were average but desserts were outstanding. We got the tiramisu and triple chocolate mousse going by all the reviews here. The chocolate mousse was impeccable.

Will be coming back for more of the mousse for sure 🙂

The food is really quite good here. The atmosphere inside is fun and the place is decorated in a funky Italian sort of way. The people are nice, the waiters are great. They have a larger area inside than you would imagine from the street, because they have an area of back that has expanded and kind of a tent-like experience. No matter where they sit you here it is fun and stuff to look at that is kind of funny and amusing. The food is terrific.

My all time favorite restaurant in Los Altos. I went for dinner with my friends last night and was so sad to learn they’ve sold the restaurant and it was their very last night. To honor their customers and run out of the remaining supply they were serving a buffet completely free and all drinks were half off. Everything was amazing as always. I am so sad to see them go

Private dining room in the back is wonderful for group dinners. It’s quiet and a nice ambience – a wine cellar on three sides and a glass wall on the other. We had great service. Nice kids menu too.

This place is magnificent. The internal decor is beautiful & homey. The staff are extremely professional & the food is beyond words. The lasagna is to die for, and the triple chocolate mousse’s got to be the best I’ve tried by far.
