This is indubitably my favorite cafe in Pilsen. It has good, strong, coffee if you are looking for a basic black coffee (such as a drip or americano), and a delicious matcha as well. Their sandwiches are yummy and a good meal option if you’re looking for something quick or on-the-go. Additionally, I love how they regularly change out the art featured so they can showcase different artists. Their service is also efficient even on the days where they are busier.

The lox bagel could use some modifications!!! They definitely need to add less cream cheese!!
I was craving a lox bagel because I had a really good one when I went to a deli in Michigan.
This is the closest Cafe that served a lox bagel near where I live so I decided to check it out.
I haven’t been here in over 8 years the last time I had a lox bagel here I remember it being really good.
The lox bagel I ordered was okay but I will say that I wasn’t a fan of the really thick layer of cream cheese they put. It took away from the flavor of the smoked salmon. All I could taste with every bite was just cream cheese. And the tomato made the bagel soggy. I got it on a jalapeno bagel which was really good.
I suggest that they take away the tomato and just add more red onion and cucumber. Also the red onion and cucumber they put in there were really small pieces but I do appreciate that they add a lot of capers. The lox bagel I had in Michigan didn’t add that many capers but they did add lots of red onion and cucumber. So pros and cons to both but I actually preferred the one in Michigan better bc the ratio of everything was great where you could taste not only the cream cheese but also the salmon. The cucumber and red onion also really make a difference in the bite and the pieces are so small at Cafe jumping bean next time I’m going to have to ask them to add more and just take away the tomato. I don’t think the tomato does anything for it in terms of taste.
If I come back here I’m going to get it with no tomato, more onion and cucumber, and I’m going to ask for the cream cheese on the side so I can put it myself. Some people might like that they load it up with a thick layer of cream cheese but I just thought it took away from the actual taste of the salmon which was disappointing. I do think it’s worth the value of $8 though bc they stuff it well but for this type of bagel where the salmon is supposed to be the star they over did it with the cream cheese and under did it with the red onion and cukes.
I also ordered the caramel apple cider which was good but a little too sweet. Apple cider in general is sweet and I think adding the caramel made it even sweeter so that’s my bad. It was good but I wouldn’t get it again. It was $4.50 for the apple cider and an extra $1 for the caramel.
In terms of customer service they were really polite and they got the orders out fast even though there was a long line.
The place was super crowded at 1pm so there was nowhere to sit. I also had to pay for street parking cuz there was nowhere to park.
For all these reasons I had to give three stars.

What a gem! I was going to UIC for an appointment and wanted to support a Latino business so I stopped here. I was shocked to see it has been here since 1994! It’s small, but there’s ample seating. Nice selection of coffee drinks with some nice traditional Mexican choices available. I only went for the iced coffee because they were sold out of the Iced Carmela, but the mollete I had was delicious! Service was friendly and pretty quick considering I was there at lunch time and there were lots of food orders. Highly recommended and definitely worth the trip!

Cafe jumping bean is my go to cafe whenever I am craving a sandwich. The food is amazing and price is very economical. Chicken salad sandwich is always my go to. Delicious and fulfilling for only 6 dollars.

The focaccia chicken sandwich was to die for. It’s a chicken breast salad with cheese, and purple onions it was baked to perfection and full of flavor and comes with a side of cold pasta. My sandwich paired very well with my hot matcha latte

AWESOME spot in a convenient location. This place is clearly a staple of the community, the barista was kind, service was fast. I was really enjoying the place until I was given the most burnt espresso I have ever tasted in my life. Somehow worse than Starbucks. I’m pretty annoying about coffee though so most people will probably be fine. I’ll give them another shot soon because every establishment deserves more than one chance, but it’ll be a while because the espresso was horrible. Did not have any of the snacks but they looked tasty.

We came here on a Sunday at 10am, there was a line out the door. We waited about 15 minutes in line, and we were able to get a table inside for three of us. This is mostly a to go place. The staff were nice, patrons were kind, atmosphere was a vibe. And it smelled good.
They have kid options, pizza, bagels, sandwiches, and a lot of specialty coffee options.
I got the chicken salad sandwich on their multigrain bread, my kiddo got the a plain bagel with cream cheese. And my partner got the Molletes (comes with a side of salsa). I got a cold brew, tasted great, and my partner got a Cafe Con Leche.
They are known for their focaccia pizza, Molletes, and specialty lattes. Highly recommend, the wait is worth it.

Carmelo is amazing!! And the turkey focaccia is delicious. Lots of turkey and I asked for extra veggies. Instead of a side of chips or pasta I asked for a side salad and they did that for me. Cute place. Busy so you know it’s good. So many drink and food options. Highly recommend. There are 4 tables with chairs and then a small bar seating area. They do not have wifi though. But if you can use a hotspot then it’s a good enough place for work if you can grab a seat.

Walked in a gloomy Saturday afternoon and the place was packed. Despite the long line, they were super efficient and I waited less than 10 minutes to get my $3 chocolate Mexicano. It was a perfect pick-me-up beverage, and not too sweet—exactly how I like it.

The people that work here are so nice. They always greet with a smile. The ambiance is calming. The music is chill. It’s a community coffee shop. The locals know the workers and the workers know the locals. It’s a welcoming environment. In my honest opinion I have tried a bunch of coffee shops (I work in west loop so I mainly get my coffee in that area) hands down Jumping Bean coffee beats all those coffee shops. The espresso is strong and delicious and the iced lattes taste very well balanced. Not like other places which give me more of a just milk and ice type of finish if you know what I mean. I love this place!!! It’s a must try if you’re in the Pilsen area.
