So glad that I found this place – can’t wait to go back in cooler weather and see the gardens! The Muffuletta is excellent, not exactly traditional, but delicious perfection (It’s done in a panini press and served warm)… Everyone else in my party was happy with their various food selections as well. I got a bread pudding to-go and it was delicious the next day. Sorry, I forgot to take food photos.

The food was delicious and there was a variety on the menu. Service was very poor. All of our party had drinks for 20 minutes before we had ours and our food came 15 minutes after the rest of the two tables had theirs. We had to get up and ask a different server to order dessert. They did comp our dessert, so that was nice. Anyway, we had a nice time.

There’s indoor dining with a great view of Lake Pigneur. There’s also outdoor seating on the porch, surrounded by oak trees, right on the edge of the gardens. Seating is also available under the oaks themselves. On top of the atmosphere, you’ll not find better food anywhere.

I truly love this place. The gumbo is exactly the way I like it. A dark, thin broth, perfectly executed. And the dinner rolls! I so wish they would share their recipe with me. Just wonderful. The salads, the entrees, well, everything, just appeals to my taste buds. It’s the way I cook. And the flavor profiles I love the most. Prices are fair and it is good value for the quality. Highly recommended.

Amazing lunch. You must get the crab au gratin. It is one of the best things I’ve ever eaten. The restaurant is charming and the grounds are lovely. Our waitress was fabulous too. Look for the white peacock.

Our local DeLorean group had lunch here. A very busy little cafe with great food and reasonable prices. All of Jefferson Island and Rip Van Winkle house are beautiful and well-kept. The gift shop even has a display of mastodon bones reportedly dug up on the property.
