Reviews
If it weren’t for me having to select a star to even post this review, I’d not even consider giving my experience at this “restaurant” one star. The woman who owns this place is a terrible human being, and the servers all cower in fear of her. They’re either unknowledgeable or ineffective because they fear her. My food was mediocre at best. I ordered cheese ravioli and garlic bread with cheese. The “garlic bread” was a hoagie bun, and regular “garlic bread” was hotdog buns. We also ordered a pepperoni pizza, and it came out sopping in oil. Even when we dried it off, it was gummy and doughy. The cheese slid right off the top of it. The bottom of the pizza WAS brown, but a naked eye could look at the top of the pizza and see wet pizza dough. After informing our waitress of the pizza’s inedible nature, we further ordered a Caesar salad and 2 pieces of chocolate cheesecake. When paying at the front register, the cashier said she needed to get the owner regarding the cost of the pizza as it continued to remain on our tab regardless of our inability to eat it, and the server’s acknowledgement of the pizza’s quality when we brought it to her attention. The owner, then, instructed a server to grab the pizza off our table, which had been sitting there for a half hour. After, the owner came to the front, disrespectfully flopped the pizza over and pointed to the pizza’s brown bottom, and screamed in our faces that the pizza was cooked and would be paid for. She continued to shout at us even though we did not meet her with rudeness and belligerence. It was a humiliating experience, and I genuinely pity the people who work for this cruel person. Please do not waste your time or risk your mental capacity stopping at this location. What can be confused as small – town charm is realistically podunk motel – lobby – food. At least Waffle House, located directly beside this place, doesn’t act like fine – dining!
I for sure judge where I eat especially Italian food because I’m an Italian from NY and the pizza did not disappoint. Good crispy crust on the white pizza. Delicious.
The stuffed mushrooms were ehh.
The sauce was good.
The best part was that the owner was Italian.
Made it that much better.
We ordered drinks (a soda pop and an iced tea), the stuffed mushrooms with bread as an appetizer and we decided to share an order of the chicken picatta and a large pizza Florentine, thinking we could take the leftovers with us. The bread we received was stale and inedible.
When the main courses arrived we were sorely disappointed. The picatta sauce was thin, runny and completely lacking flavor, the chicken was so tough that even trying to cut it with a knife and fork was difficult. We gave up on the chicken and tried the pizza, which again was completely flavorless and tasted bland, the spinach seemed as though it had been frozen and then thawed before it was added to the pizza. We were so disappointed that we told the waiter who offered to send the owner to our table. He arrived openly hostile and told us that this was the first complaint he had ever received in more than 20 years. I told him that maybe it was because people were afraid of his anger.
We paid the bill in full ($65.00 including tip), left the food largely untouched, and left very disappointed.
Zero stars, I do not recommend.
