Hands down one of the best places to eat in Milwaukee. Casual atmosphere, GREAT bloody Mary’s, delicious food with SO MANY great options to choose from, and the service was absolutely top notch. Our server Ava was eager to help with suggestions and recommendations on different food choices as this was our first time here. She went above and beyond in every way! We had the shrimp primaverde and the meatloaf, both were absolutely delicious and flavorful. We also had the cheese curds which come with siracha ranch, SO good! We got a cone for frites to try some of the other dipping sauces and the siracha mayo was our favorite, but the garlic aioli was also good. The Milwaukean Bloody Mary was perfect, highly recommend it!
We will definitely be back to try new things in the future as this is our new favorite Milwaukee casual eating place!!!

Spectacular service. Delicious food. Amazing private party space.

We hosted my sister’s bridal shower in the Loft at Cafe Hollander in October. I can’t say enough good things about this location and the staff that helped us from the moment we arrived to when we left.

Ava and McKenna were attentive, flexible and just truly delightful to spend the day with. They went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed and then some.

The buffet breakfast was a huge hit. The space was perfect for a bridal shower with about 30 guests.

We were allowed to decorate with tablecloths, flowers, etc. The industrial exposed brick aesthetic of the venue complimented our “vintage tea party” theme nicely.

We’d recommend Cafe Hollander to anyone looking for a space to host a private party. Thanks to the whole team for making the day so wonderfully memorable!

They took special care to set up a spot at the bar for our anniversary. This was the location of our first date, and 13 years later the managers at Hollander made sure we were sitting in the exact same seats we were in when we met. Plus they greeted us with sparkling rose and a cone of frites! The little things make this place special – they understand what hospitality means.

Classy, warm atmosphere full of many great drinks choices that I would like to spend some more time at.
Service & food matched the atmosphere and drinks, Olivia was very welcoming and helpful with drink and food suggestions.
The Big Smokey burger was one of the best burgers I have had in a long time, with flamed flavor throughout and very quality toppings. The breakfast fries were crisped to perfection. I found the prices to be very reasonable as well.
It is definitely to be noted as a place I want to return to while visiting Milwaukee.

Café Hollander on Downer is hands down one of my favorite spots in Milwaukee! The atmosphere is so cozy and welcoming, whether you’re stopping by for brunch, lunch, or just a drink with friends. Their menu is always fresh and creative — the frites are a must, and the burgers and sandwiches are always spot-on. Plus, the beer selection is amazing, especially if you’re into Belgian brews

The staff is consistently friendly and attentive, and the patio is perfect in the warmer months. It’s the kind of place that makes you want to stay awhile and come back often. A neighborhood gem!

We came to Hollander for book club and had a great time. Our server was the perfect level of attentiveness and very warm. I don’t remember her name but she was adorable and had a lot of piercings. The double beet smash burger never disappoints. I got it with a side salad that was delicious and not just a crappy afterthought of lettuce, tomato and cucumber. The Choufe Blanche was . The atmosphere is always lovely.

We’ve been coming here for a few years – lively and fun! The outdoor seating during warm weather is the best! Service is always good – fast, friendly. Great bar, plenty of outdoor and indoor seating. Fantastic place to catch a game, meet friends, hang out for a family meal. Food is always good – make sure to try the pretzel bites! Tried & true Wisconsin favorites on the menu! There is definitely something for everyone here!

Street parking can be a little tricky, but there is a decent size lot across from Sendik’s.

Delicious!!! We stop here whenever there is a volleyball tournament and it does not disappoint!! Try the meatloaf!!!!! The only thing is each time we’ve been in, the way they pour beers has wayyy to much head – like 1/3 to 1/2 of the glass – we thought it might be because we had tried a specialty beer, but I took a picture of the other beers that were getting poured and they’re all like that. So I would say for next visit, please more beer instead 😉 !
