Tried Bún Bò Huế for the first time. The dish had a comforting, homemade feel to it. I wasn’t aware it traditionally comes with blood curds, and while authentic, I didn’t personally enjoy the taste or texture. I also wished the broth was spicier. That said, the portion sizes were generous and the service was very pleasant. We also ordered the crab rangoon, which was perfectly crispy with just the right amount of filling.

Very friendly, very nice, the food comes out very fast, and parking is on the street. The dishes are fairly priced as most Vietnamese places. The food came out fresh and tasted good. Just know that the dry vermicelli noodle salad bowl w shrimp comes with a spring roll chopped up into 3 pieces inside the bowl that has pork meat. I don’t eat pork at all so I couldn’t eat it. So if you can’t even have pork touch your food, ask them to put the spring roll on the side and give it to your friend or ask them for a veggie spring roll and see if there might accommodate.

Ordered a combination Pho, BBH, and egg rolls. The restaurant was nice and spacious. Staff was quick and very nice. Food took about 15 minutes to come out.
The pho was very light, earthy from the spices, and fresh. I just wish they gave a little more protein but for the price was fair. The BBH was stacked with protein. I would come back.

I’m ashamed to admit as a Chicagoan, this was my 1st time in Little Vietnam Chicago but very happy I ordered food from Café Hoang.
Was happy to see the nice little restaurant at full capacity when I walked in because it’s a good sign the food is good here. Had takeout last night, but definitely want to come & sit in next time.
Had Pho & Chicken Pad Thai. One of the best in the City. Very polite Staff. Definitely will be back! Beautiful little area with the lightworks & design under the EL Station.

Came with my elderly mother and husband (mix couple). Very welcoming. They served free glasses of hot tea on coldest of days and refilled to keep hot. Traditional Vietnamese foods all well done. Hospitable service. I grew up on the Vietnamese restaurants in this area and they have maintained their quality and service comparatively.

We visited during Lunar New Year and each of us had incredibly delicious dishes. The staff was super quick and the food warming and flavorful.
I also had forgotten to take my purse with me when we left the place and only noticed a couple days later. The staff had collected it for me and waited for my phone call, not looking through my stuff. When I called to ask them if they found a purse they asked me to come by to identify myself, which I am so happy about. I was so relieved to have it back and everyone was so nice. What a special place!!! Thank you!

No.12 and No.26。It’s a big bowl. It’s delicious. I like my choice of No. 26, which has shrimp kebabs and sliced beef, and lots of vegetables, and the noodles taste vermicelli and refreshing. With sauce, the taste is really great, sweet and sour, and it is comfortable to eat in summer. The noodle soup tastes great, too.

They moved across the street to a newer and brighter space. Much better environment and atmosphere. Food is still authentic and delicious.

I dined in today and ordered the #20 Bún Bò Huế (Spicy Hue Style Soup) and the Gỏi Cuốn (Fresh Spring Rolls). Unfortunately, both were very disappointing. The beef and sausage in the soup were extremely tough and completely flavorless, and the broth lacked the rich, spicy depth that defines this dish.
The “fresh” spring rolls didn’t taste fresh at all. The texture and flavor made it seem like they’d been made hours or even days earlier rather than to order.
Service was practically nonexistent. My water glass sat empty for over 20 minutes, and despite the restaurant not being busy, no one checked on my table.
Also charging $16 for one Bánh Xèo (Vietnamese pancake) is absolutely ridiculous!
Overall, would not recommend to my number one enemy.

I love to try new restaurants and this is the must-return one. We and Tom yum, penang curry, and the crispy noodle. All were tasty. It’s hard to beat the flavor, portion, and price in the chicago area. It’s a hidden gem.
