The shop has a nice atmosphere and a very clean, modern aesthetic. The americano I had was quite good. I also enjoyed the service from the Brazilian barista. She was quite friendly and easygoing. I thought the bacon on the chicken club was delectable.

Always wondered what’s the big deal with Seattle coffees. I ordered a decaf dopio that I turned into an iced coffee. It’s was strong but tasty. They served their espresso with a side of spritz water. It was really a very good pairing.

Super disappointed with my recent lunch purchase at Cafe Hitchcock. I spent almost $20 for the avocado toast and a ‘side’ of chips. The cost versus what I received has dramatically declined in quantity and quality. IE: the $3 for a side of chips was a 50 cent bag of Tim’s, previously homemade chips – really? The toast was under toasted and half of what previous servings used to be. Cafe Hitchcock is too expensive for the value.

I’ve been to Hitchcock twice, once last fall and more recently. I came back because I loved the BLT, one of the best I had ever. This recent visit I ordered another BLT and was so disappointed.. the bread and bacon were smaller portions and not of the same quality several months ago. I left unsatisfied and knowing there are better sandwiches for the same price in downtown.

Like others have mentioned, the coffee here is good but if you order any breakfast or lunch be ready to pay 3x what you’re expecting for something pretty tasteless. I ordered an avocado toast and besides waiting 30 minutes for it to come out it tasted like avocado on cardboard.

I was disappointed to find that their $17 pulled-pork sandwich was more of an appetizer size, and despite the counter service and self-bussing system, there was a 20% default tip option at the register. I remember Cafe Hitchcock being great in the past, and I hope they can make necessary changes to improve the value prop. Wouldn’t be surprised if they go out of business.

Smell is amazing, great options, food tastes amazing.. The staff was super polite. The iced cold brew was a bit bitter. I got the avocado toast with a poached egg and it was phenomenal; the bread was delicious, avocado was the perfect ripeness, the garlic and radish garnish added a pleasant flavor and the seasoning was well done.
