My husband and I came here for lunch. The experience was extremely disappointing. I have food allergies so I asked for my sandwich to be made with no cheese and gluten free bread. The cashier told me the sandwich I ordered didn’t even come with cheese (it did) but I asked her to put a note in anyway, which she did. The gluten free bread was an up-charge (no big deal, I am used to this). We waited almost an hour for our food. When we received it, my sandwich had cheese on it (I just picked it off) but then I noticed the bread did not appear to be gluten-free. I had my husband taste the bread and he confirmed it was NOT gluten-free. We asked the waitress and she claimed it WAS made gluten-free so I took a bite. It was not. I asked her to take it back and they just brought the same sandwich back to me, claiming the chef confirmed he already made it gluten-free. All this to say, if you have food allergies, do NOT come here. I waited for an hour for food I didn’t even get to eat.

Great service and good food. Nice selection of items to choose from as well as drinks. Cozy place to enjoy a home cooked meal. Generous portions. Food is cooked and served fresh. Wait time was short for food once we ordered. The place is clean and well kept.

I don’t know what is going on with Cafe Gouda. The food and service used to be good. The last 2 times I ordered from them I got a barely toasted Hot Brown, no Sweet Potato fries, despite calling in advance to confirm they still offered them, the pasta salad was dry and heavily peppered and the chocolate chip cookie was a peanut butter cookie.

I am ServSafe certified and have worked with food for almost 8 years. This was the most blatanly disgusting dining room Ive ever seen.

There were ants crawling across the floor.
Its the deep cleaning thats missing, you have to do more than just wiping tables and leaving them sticky. Im scared of what it looked like behind the counter.
I can handle a messy room after a lunch rush but this is build-up not just a messy room.
Service was almost non-existent.

I’ve eaten here for years and it’s my favorite breakfast spot. Today my guy ate with me, first time and he was really impressed! He absolutely loved his breakfast omelet burrito in sausage gravy. I opted for the build your own omelet w avocado instead of toast. Eric in the kitchen did a phenomenal job. Elijah was our server and he was so polite and helpful.

When I tell you, this is the dirtiest restaurant I have ever been in; in my life. The floor was caked in dirt, grime, I had to move away from the window because I saw ants and they were trailing onto the wooden chair I was sitting on. The salt was wet inside the shaker, the windows were oily and smudged. After a while me and my fiance got so uncomfortable we considered just leaving altogether. The food was fine for what it was, the fries were served cold, so I am not sure how long they had been prepared for. I ended up not finishing my food because it was giving me the ick so bad, I was scared of getting food poisoning when I don’t have a lot of sick days at my job to take a risk like that. Overall avoid.

Today was my first time here and I have to say it was not a let down. The service was very good. The ladies up front were very helpful. The menu is exciting and has specials. My wife has been a patron here for 20 years. She loves it. When we got our food it was delicious! It’s very nice inside too. Local art covers the walls and it can be purchase. Support the locals!! They have outdoor seating as well. I am very eager to have breakfast here too. I would have posted a 5 star review if it was a little cleaner. There was some tables dirty from previous patrons and I didn’t notice the ladies making it a priority to get them clean for other customers. Not a big deal tho. I review a lot of places and a few dirty tables don’t deter me. It kinda reflects on management. When we left, they were still dirty. I honestly highly recommend this place. I can wait to go back. Coffee is amazing too!!

Used to love this place but it has gone downhill. Went today and waited a long time for my food. Food was not good and sandwich was missing ingredients. Only giving it two stars because the cashier was very nice. Gross food I won’t be returning.

Great place to eat with friendly staff and a clean, welcoming atmosphere. I usually order the half sandwich and tomato bisque for lunch — it’s one of my favorites! My husband and I also stop by sometimes for breakfast, which is always good. The fruit that comes with the oatmeal is always fresh and delicious.

We look forward to Saturday mornings at Cafe Gouda! We almost always get both of their breakfast specials. One is usually sweet the other savory. They change weekly and we’ve not been disappointed with them yet. They definitely know how to combine flavors while using fresh ingredients to make a delicious meal!
