We had dinner at Café Gabbiano and it absolutely lived up to the hype. The place was packed when we arrived, which felt like a good sign—and we were right. Everything we ordered was excellent, with flavors that felt thoughtful and perfectly executed.
The highlight of the night was the truffle ravioli—an amazing discovery. Rich, aromatic, and comforting without being heavy, it was the kind of dish you keep thinking about afterward.
The atmosphere was vibrant and energetic. It’s not a quiet, intimate dining room, but that’s exactly what you’d expect from a restaurant full of happy people, and it added to the fun. Overall: excellent food, great energy, and a meal we’d gladly repeat.

Despite being in the process of construction, Gabbiano’s did not miss a beat. The service, food and atmosphere were over the top this evening. (Thank you Bruno and staff!) Everything we ordered on the menu was delicious. Also parking is typically easy to get which is nice as the island can get challenging with parking at other places.
We went back to Gabbiano’s again and it was just as good as the first time. The new building addition is a bit more modern and lovely. The brie appetizer was fantastic. Poached pear salad…more please! The mains we had were clam linguini and the grouper special which were equally great. The molten lava chocolate cake stole the show. The staff was very friendly and accommodating as always. This restaurant bumped up to being one of our go to places on Siesta Key now!

Authentic Italian deliciousness @ the north end of north village! In-house made pastas and dishes have had me returning to try a variety of plates. Salads are mouth watering in flavor. Appetizers are individually good enough to get as tapas with drinks or to keep an evening light… Newly expanded, dining options now include an intimate wine cellar environment, a spacious, Italian winery gathering with bar seating, and traditional dining. Nora, the manager, checks in with dining customers and is knowledgeable on Gabbiano’s house selected wines… several are quite delicious. I recommend HERE if you’re coming to Siesta Key and you’re Italian, or just looking to dine Italian!

Cool atmosphere. Bus boy was attentive, but the actual waitress never gave me a drink refill in the 90 minutes we were there. They were “out of” Diet Coke. My pasta tasted good, but was barely even lukewarm. My daughters’ Alfredo pasta had no flavor. The butter that came with the bread was heavenly- not sure what they season it with? The marinara sauce was 10/10.

I requested the new room which turned out beautiful. Much better than what used to be there. We were seated in a timely manner and served quickly. Had to ask for water refill. Desserts were wonderful looking and tasted great too. I still feel they can cut back on the garlic but that might be my personal taste.

We had the most incredible experience at Café Gabbiano. From the moment we walked in, the service was warm, attentive, and genuinely thoughtful. The food was exceptional—beautifully prepared, full of flavor, and truly some of the best Italian cuisine we’ve had in a long time. Their wine selection was equally impressive, and our server helped us choose a bottle that paired perfectly with our meal.
But the moment that truly set the evening apart was when the team surprised us with a complimentary anniversary dessert. We hadn’t mentioned our anniversary at all—they simply noticed it on my OpenTable profile and proactively brought out a beautifully plated dessert with well-wishes. It was such a thoughtful, unexpected touch that made the night feel extra special.

Our dinner at Gabbiano’s was amazing! Great food. Great service! First time to Siesta Key. Gabbiano’s was recommended by a friend. Did not disappoint. First night was so wonderful with our waiter Ricco, we went a second night! Had Ricco and the same table in the wine cellar room both times. Wine selection was amazing. Food was excellent. Ricco made excellent meal suggestions. We will definitely return on future trips to Siesta Key.
