If you are wandering the streets of Paris looking for a reliable, no-fuss spot to rest your feet and grab a bite, Cafe G is a perfectly okay choice. It isn’t trying to reinvent the wheel or chase Michelin stars, but it might deliver what you need when you’re craving a casual French lunch.

The atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming—exactly the kind of place where you can sit back and watch the city go by without feeling rushed. It’s on the Left Bank, just steps from the Seine and the Pont Saint-Michel bridge crossing over to Notre Dame.

We stuck to the classics, and Cafe G handled them decently. The onion soup was warming and savory, with just the right amount of melted cheese on top to pull apart. However, the broth was unusually thick, which I found surprising.

The escargot were prepared in the traditional garlic, parsley, and butter style; nothing overly fancy, but tasty and satisfying.

We also shared a croque monsieur, which hit the spot with its crispy edges.

Overall, Cafe G is not going to change your life, but it may not disappoint either. It is a servicable bistro for a casual meal in the heart of the city.

we went in for dinner, it was quite busy, but mostly people drinking. there are two dining areas, and you can smoke in the outside one, but it’s still closed from all around so it’s quite warm outside, the smoke does get through to the inside area, so keep that in mind if you are bothered by the smell. although the place was full, there was one main server running around everywhere, so it was very understandable that he didnt get to us as fast as we would have expected. the drinks were good. we bother ordered the flank steak with fries and shallot and it was truly spectacular. the sauce is amazing. they didnt ask us how we wanted the meat cooked but it was done to perfection, and the fries were clearly homemade. 10/10 experience, highly recommend.

Cafe G. Lovely bistro style Cafe in Saint Germaine. The French onion soup, followed by the Beef bourguignon and the Chicken with Grandmother’s gravy, was very good. Thoroughly enjoyed our evening and the true French cuisine.

The Cafe G is near our hotel so we stopped in this morning. The atmosphere is attractive with outdoor seating, covered seating and indoor seating available. The food was also good and served hot. Our only issue was the service was not friendly nor attentive, not rude just very uninterested. Otherwise the experience was not bad.

Great spot to hangout at an intersection close to Fountain St Michel. Streets are really busy. You’re also right next to the Metro.

Tried Nutella and Jam Crepes with Hot Chocolate and Espresso to wash it down. For the price though, I would expect more quality in terms of taste. We’ve had better experience on food shops around narrow alleys.

Service people are friendly but a bit slow.

The best option of course is outside seating. It is shaded from sun and rain but most patrons smoke when I visited. If you don’t like to inhale smoke while you lounge, consider yourself warned.

Overall, I think you pay for the experience of having coffee in the Paris air, but not for the food and drink.

A cosy place near St Michel fountain place, well decorated and quiet corner in this busy area. Recommanded.

First time at this fun spot. Our server Fadwa made a huge positive impression with her warmth, great service and ready smile. The food was very good, up to par with many other local bistros. It is definitely a fun people watching spot…good for a drink (or two), maybe some pomme frites or whatever. We had a full dinner and enjoyed our meal as much for the atmosphere as for the food. But FADWA is amazing! Thank you Fadwa!
