Pros: Service was great, Food came out quick before a Pens game, atmosphere and seating areas are great.
Cons: Food was terrible. Chicken fingers were rubber, fries were soggy and bad, steak hoagie was small, steak was limited and just thrown on a piece of hoagie roll, fries also soggy and bad. Prices all high into the $18+ for each of those items. Should of just waited to get into arena where good chicken and fingers/fries are about $20. Beers here were $13 for a tall can which is better than the arena, was told no specials for a game day, they used to be $6 or 7 dollars before Covid but I understand things change. this was my go to place for 10-15 years but It’s not the same anymore, will have to look for something better.

Fantastic place to stop before a Pens game or any event at the arena. Extremely friendly atmosphere, and they were spot on with everything. They really make you feel welcomed here, and I will always stop in whether if it’s just for a drink or a meal before I go to the arena.

The food is also extremely good. I suggest the mozzarella sticks and especially the full wings. You really can’t go wrong with anything on the menu.

Our server was good, I am rating one star because our food was disgusting and more expensive than just eating in the arena. $18 for 3 small chicken tenders and a few bites of fries. Tasted like the fryer oil hadn’t been changed since the last time the pens won the cup. Our fries were dark, soggy, and lukewarm. The chicken tenders were dry, rubbery, and inedible. Don’t come here unless you’re only drinking before the game.

First time at Café Fifth Ave for food and drinks before Penguins game. We got there at 1:16pm the place wasn’t to packed and our server Clara was phenomenal.

She did an amazing job sending our food order to kitchen and checking on us every 8-14mins.

I ordered Italian hoagie and it was delicious.

Overall
• Bathroom upstairs 3.5 stars
• Food was 4 stars
• Severs 5 stars due to short staffing they were really hustling.

Thanks again!

The service was good, the guy was prompt and friendly but the food was awful. The chicken tenders were so overcooked they were like rubber. You could taste the fact that the oil for the chicken wings was so old and half of them were still cold.
Would recommend for drinks before a game but if you’re looking to eat I wouldn’t bother. And then the price to eat gross food was ridiculous.

Great atmosphere to stop in before an event at the arena and have a drink and bite to eat. Friendly and passionate staff. Highly recommend

On 11/12 we drove two hours to Pittsburgh for McCartney and stopped at Café Fifth Avenue, half a mile from the arena. The food was a miss—soggy onion rings and an inedible, frozen-tasting chicken sandwich. We didn’t make a scene; we told our server we were on the clock and needed to check out. Instead, we waited 20+ minutes as the server vanished and the manager reworked a botched ticket. We handed over our card; it was swiped and returned—then, as we walked to the venue, the manager and server chased us down, claimed it wasn’t swiped, and dragged us back. We missed the opener. Zero apology. Zero comp. A preventable mess that trashed part of our night. Awaiting the manager’s response to this message—make it right and I’ll remove this review; otherwise, it stays.

Wings are my favorite here and my wife loves the Ruben. Great stop before or after a pens game.

Good food! Perfect place to stop before a hockey game. They are usually playing the pregame stuff. The wings are amazing!

Loved this place! Perfect for a show at PPG or when staying at the Marriott. Drinks were cheap, lots of selections, and excellent bar food menu. We had a pierogi basket- wowww just awesome! So flavorful, pillowy and perfect. Dough, butter, mashed potatoes, Parmesan, and grilled onion- what else could you want! They did say they would be open after the show and were closed before 1030 but it was a Sunday so I get it! Seems awesome for football games or hockey games too.
