The croissant was delicious. Cheese and ham were toasty.
The latte was smooth and not too sweet.
I also sampled their English muffin and home made jams. These were also delicious!
For the overall experience, I give this place 4.5 stars. It would be 5 stars if I could figure out the parking situation.
Great date spot for sure!
Come for the Ambiance really. That patio is worth gold! The lights, the fire pit, the lounge seating, all worth the overall experience.
Prices were ok.. most pastries around $6.
The staff was great, the service was really good.
My only problem is the unmarked parking. It’s so hard to know where to park, because even if there is a sign, I couldn’t see it at night time. Could they at least put a light on it? Or clearly designate between apartment parking and Cafe parking.
Food and pastry are great as usual. I love to see bread display on a top row like Ventura. I saw people having hard time look down.
Verve coffee is served!
Overall good place to go!
As for the food, I’ve tried just about everything, always hoping the next dish will be better, but it never really hits the mark. It’s not terrible, but nothing I’d go out of my way for. That said, it’s conveniently located near my job, and it’s a nice place to meet a friend for a quick brunch. I just wish it lived up to its potential!
The pastries are outstanding — flaky, buttery, and clearly made with love. I always go for the almond croissant or the kouign-amann when I want something sweet, but honestly, you can’t go wrong with anything in the case. Their coffee is smooth and well-balanced, and the baristas are friendly and know their craft.
Brunch here is also a must. The Ficelle Benedict and avocado toast are next-level, and everything is plated beautifully. Even when it’s busy (which it often is on weekends), the staff handles it with ease and keeps the vibe relaxed.
Whether I’m meeting a friend, grabbing a quiet coffee to work, or treating myself on a Sunday morning, Café Ficelle always delivers. A true local treasure — highly recommend!
