We finally took the time to enjoy the Katy Trail this last weekend, we saw a flyer for Elenas Cafe and decided to give it a shot, from the moment we walked in and asked our waitress (Elena herself) about the food and she started telling us about what they do and how they do it I knew right then that we were in for a treat.
We had the French fries AND the hummus for an appetizer (don’t judge we had been in the trail all day ) and they both were incredible, after the appetizer we had a sausage and cabbage dish that I couldn’t pronounce or spell and a chicken spätzle, both were a truly remarkable dish. As we were finishing up the owner was taking deserts to another couple and had to show them off….so we had desert as well. Both (yes both) deserts were magnificent. I would highly recommend this Elenas and will be returning again soon. To top it off our entire bill was under $50 for two and if you’ve read this far you’d realize this was an absolute bargain.
Thanks again Cafe Elena, you filled up two starving bikers for a great price with great food and great service. Doesn’t really get better than that.

Our food was exceptional. Hot, fresh and flavorful. We enjoyed our visit and hope to return soon.
Our goal was to ride the Katy trail and by chance fell into New Franklin’s Cafe Elena!
