Iconic New Orleans cafe known for café au laits, chicory coffee & beignets since 1862.

If you don’t feel like waiting for crazy long at the main cafe, this is the best option. Lines were great/fast and service was wonderful. The coffee was so good and so were the beignets. They were nice and hot. (Little tip: shake the bag before you start eating. Helps them get fully coated in powdered sugar) Will definitely be coming back!

I had such a great time here! The cafe and bakery serve really delicious drinks and pastries — everything tasted fresh and comforting. The atmosphere is lively with fun, upbeat music that makes you want to stay longer. What I love most is how close it is to New Orleans’ famous attractions, so it’s perfect for a quick stop while exploring the city. A great spot to relax, recharge, and enjoy some local flavor!

Café Du Monde is an absolute New Orleans classic and for good reason! The beignets are warm, fluffy, and covered in the perfect layer of powdered sugar, and they pair perfectly with a cup of rich, smooth chicory coffee. It’s simple, delicious, and exactly what you hope for when visiting this iconic spot.
The atmosphere is lively and full of that unique New Orleans energy, with people coming and going at all hours. Whether you’re sitting outside enjoying the music or grabbing a quick bite to go, it’s an experience that never gets old.
If you’re in New Orleans, a stop at Café Du Monde is a must it’s a true taste of the city’s charm and tradition.

CASH ONLY! This is a staple of New Orleans that you have to visit each and every time! This was the best we’d ever had this time around! The taste of the beignets was excellent! We always visit due to the history and nostalgic attraction from seeing it in movies time after time! There’s no better anywhere else! It’s such an active busy area, close to the river walk, shopping all around, busy intersection, starving artists all around, and live music! Incredible! Don’t wear your best clothes, as you may end up with powdered sugar all over you due to a breeze! The tables will be sticky, and the floors will be a bit dirty, but it won’t affect the taste of you food! Enjoy, and return again and again!

Just the basics! Coffee and beignets. But they have decaf for me. With milk and chocolate. Fresh beignets- a delightful Chanukah treat!
Quite a bit easier to get in here, in a mall, compared to their landmark outlet in the French Quarter.

Beignets were fresh and fabulous! The steam poured out of them! The cafe au lait was good but i remembered it being creamier.

The beignets were delicious as always, but the staff…it was almost empty when I go there. The staff were laughing and enjoying a mutual joke. I stood at the counter and waited while they joked and visited. They ignored me for about a minute although I was in plain sight. A woman finally came to the counter and asked me what I wanted. I said one order of beignets. She didn’t understand me. I speak English. Two or three attempts to order the beignets. She shuffled off to more cackling and laughing. I went to the cash to pay. It took a while but a guy came and asked me what I wanted. I told him I ordered one order of beignets. He told me to sit and wait. He and the women staff were laughing and telling jokes and being really loud. A party of about 6 people came in and went immediately to the counter. They were ignored. They sroood there looking around while the staff, in full view, continued to loudly laugh and enjoy each other’s company. The party of 6 looked at me apparently wondering what the process was to order. A staff finally took their order. My beignet order arrived and they were still having a party. They were so loud and annoying I went out to the river walk to enjoy my beignets without the hooting and hollering. Excellent beignet, dreadful service. The most unprofessional staff I have seen in a long time.

Amazing! My sister and her fiance took me to Café du Monde on my first day! It was busy but we found a seat. It did not take long to get our beignets. I had sugar every where.

I took a detour on my cross country road trip, went out of my way to stop in for some beignets swimming in powdered sugar. It was my 4th time to go here over the past decade. I’d almost bet money that the bathroom hasn’t been cleaned since my first trip. Beyond nasty. My waiter was one of the few who actually hustled while others sat around (yes, sat) looking at their phones. The beignets were overcooked and almost tough. I only ate about half of one and gave up. If not for a great (overworked) waiter, this would have been a major disappointment. I enjoyed the street musicians. They drowned out my scream when I saw a huge rat just outside the tent area as I was leaving.

Located inside the outlet, and likely due to the heavy foot traffic, the service experience was quite poor. The overall atmosphere felt rushed, and the food came across as if it was prepared without much care. On a positive note, the beignets were a hit with my child. Credit cards are accepted
