We booked a last min trip to Salisbury, I emailed the restaurant as we are all vegan but I also cant have some oils which is an awkward request, especially last minute. The owner contacted me and said they could accommodate my rare dietary requests. he was so helpful and friendly. We arrived at the restaurant and he came over to help me with the menu and make sure I ordered something suitable, he then went into the kitchen to make my food. I haven’t been able to eat popadums at any other Indian restaurant and he assured me they were roasted so I could, it was such a lovely meal really tasty food especially the ragda patties! I felt so looked after and made to feel welcome ( some other places have made me feel like a pain) I really appreciate the extra effort. I will be recommending this restaurant to everyone. Thank you so much

Easily my favourite Indian restaurant in Salisbury. We went for an early supper on Friday and sat in the garden. It was so peaceful and tranquil. Hard to believe you’re right in the centre of Salisbury. I had a tandoori platter and my husband had a prawn curry. Both were absolutely delicious and all the pickles and sides were so yummy. Service very prompt and friendly.

Great food. Charming service. The place is a quite run down. Not so clean. But the food is really worth it.

We visited on 23rd December for a family lunch. All the adults chose from the Xmas menu. The food was outstanding. Every item was freshly prepared and the flavours were beautifully layered and exquisite. The sauces were deep and generous. My wife and I had the seafood curry main course. The Tilapia, prawns and calamari were so tender and obviously cooked from fresh. Nothing short of brilliant and with beautiful Basmati and freshly prepared Naan. The portions were generous as was the case with the starters – we shared the four non meat items. Again outstanding. Even the Cobra draught beer was in tip top condition. The price – worth every penny that you can muster as this is a special experience. Also the two youngsters ate everything and loved it !

Absolutely delicious food. The aubergine curry is a must and the samosa chat was a flavour bomb too. The festive menu was varied and good value. Despite not having a reservation we were seated quickly and staff were friendly, if a tad slow with taking our payment for the bill.

We visited this place on 14th Feb to celebrate our Valentine’s Day. It was lovely experience overall. The atmosphere was good and food was nice! The service was pretty quick. Parking was not outside you have to find out the place on nearby street, that was bit hectic. Place was quite small but nicely arranged. The owner was welcoming but refused to give us table outside(can’t understand the reason), menu is limited so do not expect too many Indian options in the menu card.
Recommended!!

This restaurant has a wide variety of options for my egg-free and dairy-free allergies. I was particularly impressed that I wasn’t just looking at a vegan menu, there are meat options where dairy free is indicated!
The food was absolutely delicious- definitely recommend the pakora starter and the fish curry main, and I was told the naan is really tasty too. The atmosphere was friendly and with a buzz but not too loud- we arrived at 7pm on a Saturday without a booking and so glad they squeezed us in but think we were the last lucky ones! Thank you Cafe Diwali for a really nice evening and beautifully presented, delicious food.

I had a delicious meal at Cafe Diwali. The samosa chaat was delicious and different than anywhere else I’ve ever had it (in a good way). The fish curry was exquisite. The rice is very fine; I’m not sure if it’s special rice, or they shave it smaller than normal rice, but that made the curry even better. The fish curry was a delicious swirl of flavors. The staff was very friendly and the service was excellent. The atmosphere of the restaurant is very quant. If you’re in Salisbury and you’re looking to enjoy a great meal, Cafe Diwali is highly recommended.
