Cafe Divan is a stronghold in D.C. The food is always solidly good, and service is friendly and attentive. The restaurant is attractive, yet casual.

The fresh pita bread is some of the best we’ve ever had. The shepherd salad is fresh and very tasty. Lamb kofta is delicious, as is the donner kebab.

Parking can be difficult in the area. Give yourself extra time to find a spot.

Cafe Divan is a uniquely shaped Turkish restaurant in the heart of Georgetown, DC. It has beautiful full floor-to-ceiling windows that gives it a special view from inside the triangular shaped building, which sits on the corner intersection of Wisconsin and 34th Street.

The food was served promptly and hot! Very tasty “pide” (pronounced “p-day”) – a Turkish pizza, tomato salad, and a ganache styled chocolate cake!

The staff was very friendly and also spoke Turkish!

I did struggle a bit going down the narrow stairs w/ slightly short ceilings. I’m over 6 feet.

I did notice a few flies inside the restaurant that I pointed out to the staff. Luckily, we weren’t interrupted during our meal by the pests. Maybe the staff swatted them? Idk? ‍♂️

All-in-all, a really nice dining experience.

I grew up in Turkey and have had an itching craving for Simit for YEARS. During my trip to visit my best friend in DC, we stumbled upon this place and I naturally ordered their Simit. It was PERFECT! I highly recommend it.

Authentic Turkish cuisine and desert! Divan Mixed Platter is an exceptional choice and it really worths to try. Iskander kebab was really tender and delicious, the tomato sauce was not enough but the waitress brought us a big bowl of sauce free of charge. Kunefe and Sutlac were perfect and highly recommended! Overall, it was a great experience and highly recommended.

Food is very delicious love its fresh ingredients and chefs’ signature dishes.
Customer service is 10/10
The restaurant has two environments inside with nice chill music and great ac for summertime is on point.
The outside to enjoy the weather.
Love the views since the restaurant has a triangle design which makes it very unique and romantic for a great conversation with friends or a date.
All the plates are going to amaze you!

The food was good and the staff was nice. They were very catering to my friend who’s a vegan and made sure that the dish was completely vegan for her. The lamb pizza is delicious and I don’t even like lamb. It was well priced for regular meals but the kebabs were a little expensive. I would recommend for a quick lunch or out with a few people. If you want to try something new but also like to play it safe it would be a good spot!

Would like to give 5*, but:
– they don’t have free water. Only bottled
– the flies inside
That’s not appropriate for cafe where average dish is $25

Highly recommend their Turkish coffee though, it is amazing. Kebab was too dry in my opinion.

Cafe Divan is a casual but nice restaurant serving genuine authentic Turkish food. The liver appetizer is to die for. The best doner kebab I have had outside of Turkey. You must try the lahmacun. The Thursday Special is quite ambrosial. We came home, plated our dinner, and thank god for silverware. Otherwise, I would have eaten a couple of my fingers without noticing it. The Special is that exquisite. The staff is very accommodating and my hat goes off to the Chef’s talent. Madam Mayor, you run a beautiful city and must try this restaurant.

****

Whenever I took a bite of my Doner Kebab, I felt like I was a twirling dirvish in slow motion. (For those who don’t know, doner means rotating in Turkish.) Chef, thank you for another wonderful meal.

Delicious food. Would definitely go here again. Restaurant is a bit small. My only complaint is they did charge for water which seems a bit cheap (brought us a plastic bottle of water.)

We just had a dinner. We had to wait 30 minutes to get served our food, even though just for appetizers. One of our entrees was missing and my friend finally had his dinner once we were done eating. We didn’t like the beef shish which was terrible but also lamb shish. The restaurant was cold and we asked to change our table but the host lady didn’t do that. In conclusion it was an awful experience except our server’s service. Last but not least they charged %18 service charge
