Great little family owned authentic french restaurant! The owners are chefs from Paris and so friendly and welcoming. They really take the time to make sure their customers are completely happy and you can tell they’re very passionate about what they do. The new drinks are great, they have a great new happy hour with great drink specials. The food is always outstanding and very reasonably priced. Great newer staff, great service. I live way on the other side of Birmingham, and it’s a bit of a drive but well worth it every time. They never disappoint. My husband’s and my favorite restaurant! Not enough people know about it so I would highly recommend you going and trying it if you’ve never been, you’ll love it and if you have been, continue to keep going back b/c this a a great place owned and run by great people! I give everything there, all around a 10! 🙂 Take my word, my advice to try it out and enjoy! Once you try it, you’ll keep coming back for more!

The food is delicious. Very hot and freshly made. The waitress was able to explain the dishes and made excellent suggestions as to what we should get. I especially loved the grit fritters as an appetizer. They were great. Hot and crispy on the outside and creamy on the inside. i would reccommend this restuarant to anyone wanting good food. A special treat was meeting the chef. He came out and greeted people. That showed personality and style.

Went here for brunch. Made a reservation. They lost it, the manager asked if a man took the reservation. I said yes and she rolled her eyes- I don’t need business politics BEFORE I even sit down. Was seated immediately anyway. 20 minutes later drink orders. 30 minutes after that food orders. An hour after that I got up and went to the bar to refill our drinks myself. I waited 3 hours for food! My crepes were delicious, my husbands french toast was just okay.

Must have hit them on a bad night, we were the second occupied table there at first, seemed to have only one server. The second bad sign was that it was hot as hades in there, need to turn the air down sooner, the evening sun coming through all those windows was brutal. Two people ordered snapper, I ordered Caribbean jerk spiced pork steak, one ordered a steak. The best thing we had was the appetizer. My pork “steak” was tough and hard to cut, but tasted OK, even though not very “jerk” tasting; the two snapper orders had raw spots in the middle; the beef was the only thing with no complaintse side dishes were good, but one badly needed salt and when I add salt you can be sure it has none… Then we ordered deserts…just suffice it to say that it went downhill from there. Our server was mortified, he had done his job, and done it well, we asked for the manager (who also seems to be the bartender) who when we talked to her said she would go talk to the manager. We never saw either the owner or the chef, finally did get the two dishes removed from our tab as well as all four deserts. I may give them another chance, but it will be a while…

Cafe de Paris is a great restaurant! The food is always consistently good. They have the best crab cakes I’ve ever had! Everything is very reasonably priced and they give you a lot of food for your money, you’ll never leave there hungry. The grit fritter appetizer is very good! My favorite desert is the truffle cake. They have a really great brunch too. Example, chicken and waffles, real french toast, french omelets, french crepes, real french eggs benedict, $2 mimosas, $3 house made sangria, $4 bloody marys. They have a great happy hour too. Lots of low priced drink specials and bar menu. It is my favorite restaurant in Birmingham. The owners and bartender/manager are really nice too. You should definitely try it!

One of the worst dining experiences I have ever had. After being seated, we sat at our table for 30 minutes and no one came to greet us or take our drink order. My husband finally approached the bar tender/hostess and informed him of this and a server finally came to our table. He asked how long we had been sitting there and when we told him, he apologized and said he didn’t see us (although he had been serving the tables directly in front of and behind us). We placed our order with the server and my husband ordered a salad as an appetizer; as predicted, the salad never came. We sat at our table for another 45 minutes giving our server the benefit of the doubt, but eventually my husband asked for his forgotten salad. The server told us he didn’t hear my husband order a salad…. Our food finally came after over an hour of waiting and it was mediocre at best. In total, we were there for over two hours. It was ridiculous.

My daughter and I celebrated her birthday today with lunch at Cafe de Paris. It was truly a “dining” experience. We both had the Tilapia, hers with potatoes and mine with the cabbage. Everything was delicious. Our dessert was the pastry with fruit inside and vanilla ice cream on top. I highly recommend this restaurant!!!!

Food was mediocre. The Dover Sole was mushy, the potatoes were not seasoned well, but the biggest disappointment was the chocolate mousse. It was awful. There was a twang that actually burned the roof of my mouth. It was so bad I asked the waiter if they put any cayenne in it.. Nope.. We went to celebrate my oldest going to college. It was a huge disappointment.

Love this restaurant. Servers knowledgable and friendly. Never a wait. Excellent and fresh food. Great wine parings and free tasting. Anytime we are in town, we try to go to Cafe de Paris. Very relaxing. They don’t rush you. Always have a wonderfl meal and experience. I definitely recommend giving it a try.

Went for an evening with the wife to try someplace new. Food was marginal to poor. Friendly staff were not wait staff trained. This is a restaurant priced at Botegga/Highlands pricing, delivers Newks level service and $5 plate food quality.
