I’ve bought corn in a cup 3 times here, and each time I have more water than anything else. I really tried giving this place a chance because I love corn in a cup, but at this point I think I’ll just make it myself. The 1 star is for the fruit, one time I had a bad watermelon, but overall the fruit is decent. (The photo shows a Large cup of corn, and just see how much water it has, and that is after me taking a few bites of it)

I can’t believe we just found this place, right in the heart of downtown Fate! It’s small but spacious at the same time, very clean and well air-conditioned. Super friendly customer service…an A+!! We ordered the taco plate special with asada beef and chicken tacos. The Spanish rice is fluffy & flavorful too! We had a churro ice cream sunday and WOW, it was so delicious… flavors are rich and amazing (we selected rompope & gansito), plus the churros are cajeta-filled (caramel) with a crunchy soft texture and sprinkled with cinnamon & sugar! Crazy good place and highly recommended!! Child friendly place too! If you’re craving an authentic street taco or Mexican dish plus traditional ice cream, CHAMOY is the place!

horrible place and horrible service, asked for a double order of rice on a taco plate and a regular taco plate. when we got the food theres was one serving of rice in the double tray and barely any beans or rice in the other taco tray. when we came back to the store to ask for it to be fixed they refused and then the store owner accused us of messing up the plates and also accused us of targeting the employees of shaking our plates. since we realized that obviously they wouldnt fix the plates we asked for a refund since it was almost thirty dollars for two plates and they still refused!! the girl in the front was fine, but the cook and the owner were rude. the owner was super condescending and spoke to us like children, basically telling us we were the problem and how she doesn’t trust customers complaints because her employees do no wrong. even after she looked at the plates she said “they look fine, if you have a problem ask for everything separate” after almost thirty minutes of arguing they finally remade it. this place was was great last year but has gone downhill ever since! will not be coming back anymore.

Love this place. Definitely try their fruit plate with some spices. Also a Mango drink with spices. I don’t remember the Mexican name of the drink but its really awesome. I am definitely going to visit this place soon.

The Hot Cheetos preparados were like a 4 out of 10 compared to other places in Dallas or other cities I’ve been to. The ratio of the ingredients was not good. Had a lot of corn by itself. Corn is not good. Corn is canned and not made traditionally like most paleterias by boiling the corn fresh. For $10 for canned corn and poor ingredient ratio would not get again.

Tried their tacos ($1.95ea+tax) for another option of traditional Mexican “street” tacos. Very good and normal methods (nothing odd). We tried Brisket, Al Pastor (Spit Grilled Pork) and Carnitas (Pulled Pork). We also tried their Salsa Verde and Salsa Roja. Roja (red/orange color) was very very hot (be warned), but good if you like spicy. Verde (green color) was much more bland. The meat sometimes is flavored enough it has a kick on its own (my wife sometimes doesn’t even add salsa). Good tacos!
We really liked the brisket and pastor tacos. I enjoyed mixing the two salsas (for more of a kick) while those that didn’t like spicy enjoyed the salsa verde. OF COURSE add lime and keep the traditional cilantro & onions.
Only difference we noted compared to other options was the onions. The onions were standard chopped instead of grilled onions.
They also sell Churros Con Cajeta ($2 each) that are good. I think they are using the standard Churro Factory made churros. Worth a stop for a snack. Nice and warm with gooey caramel oozing out. Let them sit, as always, will come out super hot and the inside can burn you for a long while. The hot inside is the best part, but is hot. We noted they use an air fryer here so not quite as good as other places (but still tasty).
We took food to go (did not eat in, though they had tables you could eat at for best 2 at each table or 4 maximum).
Very good in general and come back often!

Just enjoyed some tacos from cafe chamoy. The brisket, chicken fajitas, and beef fajita tacos were tasty. Conveniently located but easy to miss since it’s in the corner of the building behind the gas station. Will be back to try more of the menu. Very polite and wearing a mask. It didn’t take to long to get our food, great place to get a quick bite that’s reasonably priced.

I ordered the taco plate and churro sundae to go. The tacos were delicious and the churros were sweet and warm. The workers were nice and polite. I’m definitely coming back!
