Café Carmel is more than a coffee shop. A family-owned and operated business, we offer a warm and welcoming place to gather. Café Carmel serves baked goods, pastries, cookies, desserts and ice cream, and now also breakfast, lunch and brunch as well as custom cakes and catering. In addition to our sweet treats, we prepare classic breakfast items such as eggs Benedict, sweet or savory French toast, housemade granola, quiche and breakfast burritos. For lunch, choose a delicious salad (such as Caesar or roasted beet), homemade soups, and crisp panini, as well as tuna salad, roast beef, smoked salmon, chicken salad and BLT sandwiches. Round off your meal with a delicious chocolate éclair, tiramisu or classic Napoleon pastry.

We were first time visitors of Carmel-by-the-Sea and we were brought to this place by the food tour guide. We had the quiche with salad and we were so impressed that we came back on our last day and ordered the quiche and avocado toast. Both were very fresh and tasted amazing. Good Expresso and coffee but a bit disappointed by the scone (slightly too dry) and the Benedict eggs. The waitress was welcoming but not especially the waiter who looked bored (maybe he’s not morning enthusiastic…). Moreover there were not plant based milk which is a pity for vegans

Nice, clean shop. My mother got a BLT here and said it was some of the best she’s ever had. We both also enjoyed our pastries, although I wish they’d offered to heat them up for us, considering our meals were dine-in.
