Casual cafeteria for a quick bite before getting on Aligator Alley. Mostly Venezuelan delights. Had the traditional Huevos Perico w/ Arepa & Cafe con Leche. My husband had Pabellion & Cheese empanadas.

Ordered a coffee here wanted to maybe order some food but nothing is in English so I couldn’t read anything. The lady at the counter also had a very unapproachable demeanor where I was kind of afraid to ask her anything.
Not really so welcoming here which killed the vibe.

5 year UPDATE: Cafe Canela is still an amazing high-quality restaurant! Helpful employees demonstrate their pride and professionalism, ensuring the food and coffee were presented as great as it was 5 years ago. Viva Cafe Canela!
I highly recommend Cafe Canela. It never disappoints. Consistent quality and taste, consistent quality customer attention, and consistent cleanliness. The Pabellón, the national dish of Venezuela, has been perfected here. I will suggest the beef to accompany the fluffy white rice, very rich and flavorful black beans and the sweetest plantains around. It can also be put into an empanada if you are in a hurry and do not have the luxury to sit and enjoy the restaurants authentic atmosphere. The price to enjoy this food is far too low for the quality this fine establishment provides. Smiling You will not be disappointed!

Delicious and fresh sándwichs, but the hot coffee should not be served on foam cups, those are neither heathy nor safe.

If you’re looking for delicious and authentic Venezuelan food, this is your spot! I am from Venezuela and whenever I am in South Florida I make it a priority to stop here for food they make the best empanadas and tequeños (they have other things on the menu) as well as they offer a selection of traditional cheeses and snacks/sweets! ☺️

When there is no dish, it is better to say, don’t invent it. The beef soup was just like a hospital soup without any flavor, why did that happen? They didn’t have the full ration and they added water, resulting in something completely tasteless. My first and last visit.

Interesting menu, good choices and tastes good. Service is friendly, however this is a bit spendy for the location.

I want to share my experience today December 15th 2024. I ordered 6 hallacas and one pan de jamon, when I was going to pay I asked how much was my order and the guy that I believe is the owner was talking to me like if we were friends for years ignoring my question about the total and took my card from my hands. He used my card and pay the bill himself without telling me the total and adding 18% service. I asked him why he added 18% service if I went myself to pick up the food, he said it was auto, asked me if I want to voided the transaction which I said yes please. After that very uncomfortable moment when I proceed to left the store I just noticed the hallacas were frozen and not fresh! I will never come back!!!
