I had the tonkatsu chicken katsu ramen with spicy base tonight. Delish. My husband had the same except he had shrimp. He said it was really good.
I’ve had sushi and boba, and ramen several times. We really like this cute cafe. Any time we are feeling under the weather, we definitely make time to come in and it makes us feel so much more alive every time!

Pictures are after I had eaten half… oops forgot a before shot!

I recently visited and was absolutely delighted. From the moment I walked in, I was pleasantly surprised by the cozy and well-decorated atmosphere. The place is impeccably clean, which is always a great plus when enjoying a good meal.

The service was exceptional; the waiters were friendly and attentive, always willing to recommend dishes and ensure my experience was perfect.

The food was delicious! definitely recommend. I plan to return soon to continue exploring their menu and enjoy their wonderful atmosphere.

Really cute Asian restaurant in Lakewood. The inside is super clean and well decorated. I had the ramen and it was a large portion and tasted good. The k-dog was also really flavorful, the breading was a little thick though. The sushi looked delicious so I will have to go back and try it next time.

Cafe Brown in Lakewood is truly a hidden gem that never fails to impress.
What stands out the most is the genuine kindness of the owner and the attentive service from the staff. In many places, service feels routine, but here it feels warm and personal, almost like being welcomed by an old friend.

The café is always spotless and well-kept, creating a comfortable and relaxing atmosphere. Food is served quickly after ordering, which makes it easy to enjoy even during a busy day. The flavors are honest and refreshing—simple, yet full of depth. It’s the kind of food that’s hard to find these days, where every bite feels thoughtful and sincere.

A highlight is the house-made sauces, crafted directly by the owner. They bring a unique and authentic taste you won’t easily find elsewhere, making each dish feel truly special.

With its warm hospitality, clean environment, quick service, honest flavors, and signature sauces, Cafe Brown is a place worth visiting again and again—whether with family, friends, or even on your own.

I’ve ordered from Cafe Brown twice now, once in-person, once from Door Dash.

First time, I ordered the Tonkatsu ramen. While the flavor was okay and the pork pieces was yummy, the broth has some weird granuals floating in it, makes me wonder if the broth is made from scratch or if they use some instant mix. Noodles were solidly clumped together, even letting them soak in the broth for awhile didn’t help, had to use my chopsticks to pry it apart. Boba was good.

Second order from Doordash: ordered the Shoyu Ramen this time to avoid the granuals. Paid $4.50 for extra pork. Order arrived, open it up: no extra pork, only the standard 2 pieces. The two pieces it came with were small and 99% fat, barely a stripe of meat. Pork belly IS naturally fatty, but this was nearly ALL fat. To be shorted what I ordered and then to have what I ordered be just okay was a disappointment. For almost $24 for a single bowl of soup, I expect better. Boba was good.

Will not be ordering again.

Great little restaurant for Asian appetizers, sushi and ramen. We came for the chicken katsu. Great food presentation and hospitality from the single cashier/waiter. Tried the tonkatsu chicken katsu ramen, agedashi tofu and cold sake (peach flavor). Food was shared between two adults and two young kids and portion size was plenty to satisfy us. Noodles and chicken could have had more seasoning, broth was good/okay. It’s clear they don’t make their own noodles and probably the broth isn’t made in house either, but that wasn’t our expectation coming today so we were happy with our experience and would come again. As a family that enjoys finding little restaurants like this, it was a hidden gem and a reprieve from the heat after a nice walk in fort steilacoom park. One suggestion I would make is to have a self service water station to allow patrons to help themselves when the restaurant gets too busy for the staff.

I will start by saying that the staff and customer service are AMAZING. The first time we came here they were very attentive. The second time was a carry out, and while we waited they brought us water without even asking. They are very kind!

For the food. The sushi is really great! The flavor and presentation were there! This second time around we came for the sushi.
The ramen, however, was not the best. The broth was not that flavorful for me (shoyu) and the noodles were a little soggy. I am a big ramen person though. I did not eat my take home. My wife got the Seafood Miso and liked it, but it wasn’t great reheated.

Update for Round 3:
The ramen I got this time was the Spicy Tonkotsu and it was the same as before. The texture of the noodles is kind of soggy and the broth of the ramen lacked flavor. The pork chashu was also not my favorite.
The soft shell crab was good, the sushi, as always, was amazing, and the potato croquette (appetizer) was good. Their wings are also very good. I would still recommend coming here, but not for the ramen.

Overall I would recommend coming here. I will try another ramen next time and update as needed. Great little place to come for sushi though!

Great Korean fusion food in a relaxed placed and great service.

The inside doesn’t fit the outside, as it may appear like a less desirable spot on a busy street; however, Cafe Brown is super chill and has a lot to offer for food and dessert. We got Ramen, a fried roll, chicken karaage, and some fried shrimp dup-bab, no desserts this time, and it was all high quality and great. Give this place a shot for some unique, quality food!

Cafe Brown is a hidden gem that is an absolute must-try for anyone seeking delicious, fresh, and authentic flavors. Every item we sampled from the menu was fantastic, and their boba drinks are hands down the best I’ve ever had. With a clean environment and exceptional service, I can’t wait to return to explore more!!!
